Responsibilities * Review RFP to determine scope of work and estimate requirements * Perform quantity takeoff development from drawings, specifications, and other related documentation * Develop an estimate to support proposal creation and bid submittal documents, especially when it comes to complex pricing sheets (ie bid forms, bid tabs, etc) * Determine labor, material, construction equipment, subcontract, and other direct cost for self-performed construction execution * Analyze crew structures for composite rate development in union, merit shop, and prevailing wage labor markets * Learn and become a subject matter expert with InEight Estimating software * Align bid packages to proposal requirements prior to being issued to subcontractors and vendors * Evaluate Quote Comparison Sheets once subcontractor and vendor pricing has been received * Be involved with the construction execution plan, and upon project award, it is expected that the basis of estimate will serve as the actual plan for construction * Assist the Lead Estimator in identifying / mitigating risk and performing cost analysis * Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external team members * If necessary, assist in customer presentation preparation * Determine project successes and areas for improvement by analyzing past cost from ongoing and completed projects * Upon successful contract award, assist with project initiation by conforming the estimate while working with business, project controls, and the production team #LI-LH1 Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering / Technology and may be substituted with extensive and related work experience * Minimum of 10 years' experience in heavy industrial construction * Exceptionally strong attention to detail * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrate advanced skills with Microsoft Excel Other Requirements: * Regular, reliable attendance * Work productively and meet deadlines timely * Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment * Perform work safely and effectively. Job Description AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Geologist to support our Minnesota Environmental Remediation teams (Minnesota/Wisconsin). We are seeking candidates who will be able to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of projects and promote growth in existing and new markets, specifically related to remediation system operation work, with opportunities to support additional projects. This full-time position within our Environmental group will assist in coordinating and conducting environmental projects related to Environmental compliance and supporting groundwater treatment operations. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate project experience, require a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team. Job Summary/Responsibilities: Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems. Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area. Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures. Performing complex assignments often requires the development of unique solutions to problems. May oversee the work of less experienced scientists or operators. May operate and support groundwater treatment systems to meet required discharge limits during routine influent and treatment conditions outlined in the associated Permits. May operate and support groundwater ozone treatment in a safe and professional manner, including maintaining required training and certifications including e- RAILSAFE, Contractor Orientation, and Roadway Worker Protection, or other client required training. Confirming proper operation and testing of treatment systems after repairs, maintenance, or cleaning. Participating in internal and client required calls, and conferences. Perform inspections utilizing client required inspection system. Coordinating and/or assisting with repairs, maintenance, and cleaning. Read, understand, and follow published test methods and standard operating procedures, including company and client specific programs. Produce accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections, and compliance according to standard operating procedures. Show initiative in maintaining and repairing equipment, ordering, and organizing supplies and maintaining work area. Effectively work both independently and in a team environment. Effectively communicate with site representatives regarding schedules and task requirements. Keep well organized files and documentation to meet regulatory requirements. May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites. Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation. Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision. Participate in other environment-related projects and tasks as required, and support operations at other client facilities under the direction of staff, as necessary. Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations. Conducts a variety of standardized tests and may set up and operate standard laboratory testing equipment of moderate complexity. Records test data and provide observation and interpretations of it. Knowledge of environmental regulations, practices, and procedures; recognizes differences or changes that would indicate the need for attention. Receives and maintains required safety training including OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER Training with annual 8-hr refresher, 30-hr OSHA Training, client-specific training, and regulatory specific training. Position requires availability for on-call duty. Employees who work on-call are expected to be available to work outside on their normal work schedule, including weekends, on short notice. Position will perform tasks that may require moving and working in outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable environmental conditions including heat, cold, dusts, dryness, noise, moisture, vibration, and chemicals to perform daily walk-throughs, inspection of worksite, environmental sampling, and operations and maintenance tasks. Position may require repetitive bending/stooping, to perform environmental sampling tasks. Position requires ability to operate office computer and field tablet to enter data tracking requirements. Position may require lifting, carrying, and loading equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. such as sample coolers and pumps without assistance and up to 75lbs. with assistance. On occasion position may require working with arms above shoulder level and using ladders. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, and hearing protection. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education and experience. Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required. As a condition of employment, selected candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test. Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check. Candidate must be able to meet medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical exam. Preferred Qualification 2+ years working on large site investigation and remediation projects.
