We are seeking a Research Assistant in the AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton responsible for performing skilled, administrative, and managerial support in research. Plans and directs certain phases in a research project.
Responsibilities:
General cattle duties in all facets of cow/calf operation to include calving, treatment of sick cattle, feeding, hauling, weighing, which requires operating an Agency vehicle to perform duties.
Assists in the design, planning, and coordinating of experiments in support of various research projects.
Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.
Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.
Evaluates and summarizes results.
Assists in preparing and writing proposals to funding agencies; maintains financial accounts related to research projects.
Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
Installs, operates, maintains, and/or repairs research equipment.

Job Summary
The Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance, restoration, and the operation of industrial floor care equipment. The duties and responsibilities of the Floor Technician are directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
Use proper procedures such as stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning and spray buffing hard surface floor.
Operate industrial floor care equipment to appropriately clean all floor surface types.
Follow proper procedures to clean carpet and upholstered surfaces including shampooing, damp surface,
extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
Operate the industrial floor care equipment as assigned
Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types
Properly dispose of all municipal solid waste, as well as infectious and pharmaceutical waste
Remove trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies, and equipment from assigned work area
Disinfect receptacles and carts as needed
Adhere to safety policies and procedures
Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role preferred
Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques required
Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.* Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of greater than 50 lbs.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Custodial Management
1. Direct and monitor the work of custodians at assigned campus.
2. Provide training for custodians.
3. Direct and assist in setting up facilities for special events.
Cleaning
4. Implement and maintain established cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
5. Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean.
6. Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
7. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and order additional supplies as needed.
Maintenance and Repair
8. Assist with lunchroom set up, including arranging tables and chairs.
9. Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
10. Make minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to principal and maintenance department.
11. Move furniture or equipment within building as directed by principal.
Safety
12. Assume responsibility for opening and closing building each school day.
13. Oversee procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
14. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy.
15. Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.
16. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
17. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
18. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
Other Duties as Assigned
19. Other duties could include working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff in other trades or to perform duties associated with light construction
projects.
20. Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Facility Services Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Monitor and direct the work of custodians.
Equipment Used:
Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, shampooer, lawn mower, edger, and weed eater.
