AECOM has a position available for a Senior Transportation Engineer in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office. The growing transportation department for roadway and structural design is looking for an experienced individual who has a strong background with various transportation projects. Experience with AASHTO and VDOT transportation design policies and guidelines.

These positions will be a direct report to the Safety Service Patrol (SSP) Supervisor and Management Team with direct public and multi-agency communications. Pay is $22.00hr.
About this Opportunity
Virginia's DOT Safety Service Patroller's play a key critical role in safeguarding motorists traveling the interstates by ensuring roadways are clear of debris, reporting highway maintenance issues and assisting stranded motorists. Our SSP program operates 7 days a week, 365 days per year, serving a critical role in the delivery of safety and mobility to the motoring public.
As this is a 24/7/365 operation center, schedules are dictated by operational need and stated in advance and will include on call duties. Schedules may vary and individuals selected will be required to successfully complete certification training.
The responsibilities of the SSP include, but are not limited to:
Establishing temporary traffic control for emergency responders and providing scene assistance.
Detecting incidents and disruptions in traffic.
Clearing obstructions and debris from the roadway.
Support reversible roadway and high-occupancy vehicle gate and tunnel operations to ensure safe and incident-free lane change functions. ERO ONLY
The Safety Service Patrol also offers help to individual motorists, including:
Tire change assistance.
Fuel to get to the nearest gas station.
Jump starts.
Water for overheating radiators.
Phone access to call tow / recovery services.
Directions.
To ensure safety, Safety Service Patrol operators are provided with special highly visible, reflective uniforms and drive specially marked vehicles.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma and or equivalent certificate (GED) or 1 year of relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Ability to drive, using an AECOM provided vehicle, patrolling and monitoring a segment of interstate roadway in an assigned region.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; must also successfully complete Virginia Department of Transportation fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
Possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record in the last 3 years, including no suspension of license or single violation that the department of motor vehicle treats as worth 6 demerits.
Employees must also participate in monthly MVR monitoring program and maintain a satisfactory driving record as a condition of employment.

The Geologist III will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment, soil gas, and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.

Your Opportunity
As Project Manager, Federal Program, you will serve as the principal point of contact for contract and project management with the Department of Defense (DoD) across the US East, in particular the North Atlantic Region Areas of Operations. This role will focus on MILCON facilities and Buildings/Infrastructure while supporting federal growth with Stantec's existing clients and other Business Operating Units (BOU) services. You'll collaborate with and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective services that meet our client needs. The ideal candidate will be located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide oversight and management of the scope of work, budget, and schedule for the project, including risk and change management.
* Serve as the principal point of contact for management of all contracts associated with the project.
* Provide overall management of the project team during design, construction, testing, acceptance and turn-over of the project, including oversight of the implementation of phasing, demolition, and temporary facilities.
* Facilitate collaborative communication between all stakeholders for successful delivery of the project as a part of the overall program.
* Ensure effective and timely communication between the various project teams and stakeholders.
* Excel in all phases of project management, including, program development, budgeting, planning & design, preconstruction, project implementation, project oversight and project closure.
* Provide timely and accurate project documentation and reporting.
* Draft project work orders, project purchase orders, service contracts and change orders.
* Provide the required leadership and cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with client representatives and service providers.
* Be the lead driver of the client's vision
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Demonstratable experience performing project management services including managing contracts and projects ranging from simple scope and complex scope projects for public sector clients with a focus on the US Department of Defense.
* Passion for Leading both Design-Build and AE Services multidiscipline delivery teams, to accomplish a variety of projects for the US Federal Government.
* Ability to successfully lead multiple Design-Build and AE Services contracts/projects simultaneously.
* Commitment of time and energy to fully understand the many facets of working daily with a federal Department of Defense (DoD) government counterpart to collectively serve the federal end user customer.
* Ability to grow a meaningful and sustainable relationship with existing federal DoD clients and established outside company design partnerships, to further ensure trust, reliance, and credibility.
* Existing relationships with US government clients and specifically the Department of Defense including USACE, NAVFAC and USAF/AFCEC clients is highly preferable.
* Understand the concept of performance-based marketing. Winning new work by performance excellence, enhancing Stantec's reputation to federal government clients.
* Understanding the development of government fee proposals, and the associated marketplace, as well as technical items such as government specific technical specifications and construction cost estimates.
* Ability to facilitate collaboration with others to accomplish the common goal functioning in a highly productive team atmosphere.
* Establish and monitor project budgets, oversee quality control, and adherence to project schedules, in accordance with Stantec systems and requirements. Meet project management and quality control/quality assurance requirements of Stantec's project management framework.
* Manage multiple subconsultants over multiple contracts.
* Familiarity with Federal DoD contractual procedures and practices and execution of delivery order or Master Services Agreement (MSA)/IDIQ type contracts.
* Understanding of the DOD required facilities and infrastructure UFC's which predominantly support major DOD MILCON engineering and design and construction contracts and projects.
* Strong organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with a demonstrated ability to influence and build effective relationships built on trust and open communication.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize accordingly and manage resources effectively.
* Must be a proactive leader who functions independently.
* Experience operating within a collaborative environment of highly skilled professionals including internal networking across a large enterprise as well as demonstrated experience building and developing successful relationships.

Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent degree.
* 10-15 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Registered professional or accredited.
* On-the-job experience as a PM and having successfully managed multiple consulting projects.
* This position works primarily in an office setting and includes some work and visits on construction sites. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Water Utilities Engineer - Hydraulics Engineer-Modeler
to lead various
water utility
planning assignments for immediate employment at AECOM‘s Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC, Miami, FL, Tampa, FL, Atlanta, GA, Columbia, SC, Roanoke, VA or our Virginia Beach, VA Office
with flexibility of having a hybrid schedule with remote and in-office work. In addition, this candidate will collaborate with AECOM's Southeast Modeling Group on Southeast U.S. projects with occasional opportunities nationally. The successful candidate will perform multiple tasks, including but not limited to the evaluation of potable water and reclaimed water distribution systems, capacity analysis, condition assessments, storage and pumping evaluations, and master planning for federal, private, and municipal clients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plans drinking water utility systems including supply, transmission, pumping, storage, and distribution
Work on Water System Hydraulic Modeling projects primarily using skills related to AutoDesk Innovyze and Bentley software, ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, etc.
Specializes in all aspects of modeling, including building water system hydraulic models from plans or GIS data, calibrating/validating hydraulic models, conducting simulations, interpreting results, analyzing or evaluating the hydraulic models for various studies, and preparing technical reports on hydraulic modeling work performed.
Present technical findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholder groups and provide training when needed.
Lead a team of Level 1 and Level 2 hydraulic modelers and train them with hydraulic modeling software and related skills.
Assist with developing task and effort estimates for proposal support.
Utilize basic engineering principles, judgment, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Gather and correlate primary engineering data using established procedures and practices.
Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analysis.
Work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic team environment.
Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Work under the supervision of senior-level team members in hydraulic modeling assignments.
