If you are selected as the Utility Person, you will be assigned to work in the Deck, Engine and Steward Department, as needed. Utility Person is responsible for various duties as assigned by the Chief Mate, First Engineer, or Steward, and is required to participate in all drills and emergencies, and assists with the enforcement of rules, regulations, and pollution prevention.

When assigned to the engine department, under direction of the First Assistant Engineer, responsibilities may include:
Cleans decks and ladder ways
Replenishes materials and rag bins, empties trash, organizes tools and stores, paints, and assists with maintenance
Familiar with engine room spaces to avoid hazards and take the necessary action in time of emergency
Learns the plant and machinery operation
Participates in maintenance and upkeep
When assigned to the deck department, under the direction of the Chief Mate, responsibilities may include:
Performs sanitation duties in the house, passage spaces, common areas, and heads
Assists with mooring lines when docking and undocking, and with securing the deck for sea
Assists with cargo operations
Assists the deck department in the maintenance and upkeep of the areas and equipment assigned to the deck department
Performs the duties of lookout when arriving or departing a port, or whenever required by the Master

**About the role**
The Sr. Traveling Wellfield Technician is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, repair, installation, and performance of the assigned landfill gas collection and control systems. Travel will be required primarily to locations in Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Kansas City. locations will vary, and the candidate must be willing to travel to sites across the U.S. as needed. **Key accountabilities**
+ Responsible for the operation and trouble-shooting of the wellfield and control devices in safe, efficient, and productive manner to maintain compliance with the site-specific Title V Operating Permit, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and prescribed safety and environmental standards and applicable state, federal and local rules and regulations.
+ Maintains daily logs and obtains readings in accordance with prescribed standards.
+ Follows all plant and landfill safety policies and procedures. Uses personal protective equipment (hardhat, FR clothing, safety shoes, safety vest, hearing protection, gas monitoring equipment, safety glasses, etc.) in accordance with work tasks and company policies.

If you are selected as the Mess Person, you will be working under the direction of the Steward and Cook. The Mess Person, under the supervision of the Steward and Cook, ensures the galley is adequately stocked and assists with the inventory and storage of food and galley supplies. If you are selected as the 3rd Mate, you will be working under the direction of the Master and Chief Mate. The 3rd Mate must have a good understanding of all deck machinery and cargo systems and be proficient at navigation and cargo watch keeping. If you are selected as the 3rd Assistant Engineer, you will be working under the direction of the Chief Engineer and 1st Assistant Engineer. The 3rd Assistant Engineer is primarily responsible for the maintenance of diesel powered, electric generators, air compressors, purifiers, and electrical work aboard the ship. The 3rd Assistant Engineer is required to participate in all drills and emergencies and to assist with the enforcement of rules, procedures, regulations, and pollution prevention.
Position Overview
Your responsibilities may include:
Working under the supervision of the Chief Engineer
Safely and efficiently operating the entire engineering plant
Maintaining generators routinely
Maintaining electric motors routinely
Maintaining air compressors routinely
Maintaining L.O. purifiers routinely
Maintaining main engine lube oil systems/stern tube lube oil systems routinely
Performing all electrical work aboard the ship
Working independently
Testing and recording of insulation resistance (megger testing)
Collecting monthly samples of lube oil from all machinery
Working aloft
Checking all pumps and machinery during rounds
Monitoring activities from the engine control room
Working 12 hours per day. You may not work more than 15 hours per day
Being on call 24 hours/day for all emergencies
