Engineer for trust: Single-digit-ms paths, sandboxed execution, telemetry everywhere, four nines or it's broken.
Invent agentic primitives: APIs, eval harnesses, and safety guardrails that let wild research ship to millions.
Listen, iterate, delight: Sit with users, absorb the pain, and turn feedback into joy fast.
You Bring
5+ years building and operating production backend systems in fast-paced, product-driven teams; you've owned production SLAs and on-call for systems that matter.
Deep fundamentals in distributed systems (idempotency, exactly-/at-least-once, retries/backoff, queues, caching, consistency) and API design (REST/gRPC).
Fluency with building backends in Python, TypeScript/Node.js; write code that is observable, testable, and easy to extend.
Datastores: Postgres/MySQL schema design, indexing/transactions, plus Redis/Kafka (or similar) where it fits.
API integrations at scale: robust abstractions, retries/backoff, rate-limit handling, and data normalization
Working knowledge of LLM pipelines (embeddings, retrieval/vector stores, context windows) and tools like LangChain/OpenAI APIs.
Cloud & reliability: Docker/K8s, CI/CD, observability (metrics/logs/tracing), performance profiling, and basic security hardening.
