Kinecta company history timeline

1940

Kinecta was originally known as the Hughes Aircraft Employees Federal Credit Union (HAEFCU). HAEFCU was formed in 1940 by twelve Hughes Aircraft engineers with total assets of $60.

1997

When Raytheon Corporation acquired Hughes Aircraft in 1997, it became clear that a new brand was needed.

2001

Members advocated for a name that suggested “community and family.” The name Kinecta – suggesting kinetic energy and connection with our members – was formally adopted in 2001.

2019

And when it comes to commercial enterprises, the Small Business Administration ranked Kinecta the #1 credit union for lending in all of Southern California in 2019.

2020

Kinecta’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council launched in 2020 during a pivotal point in history.

2021

In April 2021 Kinecta and Xceed Financial Credit Union merged.

In 2021 alone, Team Kinecta volunteered more than 5,118 hours for over 225 community events, providing essential resources to roughly 250 local nonprofits.
