Removes all finished bakery products off the packaging conveyors and packs them into plastic baskets or corrugated master cases. Job Requirements: Picks up bakery products and places them in cases or trays. Observes conveyors and packaging machine operation to prevent jams, dislodges jams while following all safety procedures. Removes filled cases from discharge end of tape machine, placing them on pallets and conveyors. Inspects products for damage or for conformity to specifications prior to pack into master case. Transports completed pallets into the storage area. Breaks up and stages case dividers. Supplies empty cases to other packaging helpers Keeps work area clean and orderly be sweeping floors, wiping down equipment and other sanitation jobs assigned. Sets tape machine to the product and case specifications, passes the cases through the machine and printing system through training. Monitors tape on case enduring all flaps have been sealed accurately with tape in the middle. Monitors case to ensure the bar code and lot number are print accurately by the printing system. Repacks damage cases on the line. Monitors the tape level on the top and bottom of the machine. Changes the rolls of tape when finished. Clears any jammed on the conveyor. Reports case counts on count sheets for each product that passes though the tape machine. Operates material handling equipment to convey and store materials and finished goods. Reports all equipment problems to the foreman and/or supervisor immediately. Helps in training of new employees or employees who change job classifications. Participates on all matters relating to safety and health in the work area and positively promote safety in our operations. Plans and carries out job assignments without hazards to yourself and other employees. Reports all unsafe acts and/or conditions or equipment immediately. Promotes safety by understanding and following safety procedures and reporting all incidents in a timely manner. Primary duties are to case pick/hand stack individual cases ranging between 15 lbs to 40 lbs utilizing a single or double pallet truck. Position will also be operating electric powered industrial truck equipped with single forks to move pallets from the production floor or racks to load the trailers for shipment or stage materials for production. Candidate will also receive and unload bulk ingredient trucks into designated silos or tanks to meet production requirements. They will be accountable to all for high quality service standards to both our internal and external customers through safe, damage free, efficient, and accurate storage and handling of raw, package, and Finished Goods materials. Oversee the incident investigation process using root cause analysis tools to identify contributing factors and implement corrective/preventative actions to mitigate recurrence. Partner with plant leadership, supervisors, and the Quality Assurance team to ensure food safety and employee safety standards coexist and are embedded in manufacturing processes, including during sanitation, batching, baking, and packaging. Coordinate and lead EHS training programs, including OSHA-mandated training (e.g., hazard communication, forklift safety, PPE usage), site-specific safety orientation. Facilitate the development and sustainment of a site Safety Action Team, promoting employee engagement, accountability, and ownership in workplace safety practices. Maintain accurate EHS records and metrics using internal reporting systems and platforms; regularly report trends to leadership and recommend strategic initiatives to address areas of concern.
