Position will be responsible for all cottage activities, including oversight of residents and their children, and enforcement of program rules, agency policies and procedures.
Provides integrated services that are welcoming, engaging and accessible. These services address physical healthcare, behavioral healthcare and social needs that are recovery focused, strengths based, culturally competent, patient centered, trauma informed and co-occurring capable.
Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support healthy behavior change in all residents, adult and child. Interacts with the residents, their families, support system and community providers in a respectful, genuine and professional manner. Consults with the treatment team regarding special talents, strengths or challenges of residents, to include strategies for supporting the challenges.
Must maintain a high level of professionalism, demonstrate the ability to remain calm in high pressure situations, and make sound, ethical decisions. Assists in trauma informed support, modeling and education to promote healthy parenting skills, empowerment, self-advocacy, self-sufficiency and life-long recovery skills.
Monitors and records all medications offered to the residents. Verifies resident's requests have been approved prior to acting on them. Provides oversight for resident phone and video calls. Verifies incoming items (mail or drop off) are free of contraband and within resident's matrix. Assists in safety sweeps, completes room and perimeter checks, and monitors completion of assigned resident chores. Completes UA's on resident according to schedule and following procedures. Additionally, overnight shift will complete daily census, type resident feedback, scan documentation, complete daily audit on any controlled medications, and prepare for breakfast.
Transports residents in agency vehicle to various appointments as needed and approved by treatment team.
Routinely clean, disinfect, and organize the work space and equipment.
Answers incoming calls and connects message with appropriate staff member or resident.
Immediately consult with supervisory staff regarding any unusual or critical incidents, including but not limited to any crisis-related incidents.
Maintains records in a timely manner as required by agency, state or federal funding sources and accreditation authorities. Completes all required forms and maintains same in a manner consistent with requirements. Returns phone calls/text messages promptly and checks/responds to email daily. Serves as back-up during staff absences to ensure uninterrupted services to consumers. Documents all activities directly or indirectly related to serving residents in the program on a daily basis.
Participates in trainings/workshops related to mental health and substance abuse recovery. Demonstrates core competencies in relation to individuals and family systems with trauma and co-occurring disorders. Maintains professional competency in the area under his/her responsibility through appropriate readings and attendance at workshops and conferences. Attends all-staff meetings and other employee development activities, including in-service training.
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned by Supervisor, Program Manager and/or Executive Staff.

(a.) Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
(b.) Knowledge in the area of mental health and substance use recovery.
(c.) If applicable, must have a minimum of 12 months of personal recovery experience.
(d.) Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Must be able to interact with management, peers, other agency staff and consumers in a respectful and professional manner. Local travel may be required. Must maintain and provide verification of valid driver's license and current automobile liability insurance including uninsured motorist coverage. Must display proficiency in the MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills. Casual professional dress is required. Must possess and maintain CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications; or obtain within 30 days of employment with North Care. Must have current (within past year) TB test; or obtain within 30 days of employment with NorthCare. Must be able to bend over, stoop and climb stairs, move about facilities freely, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Must have and/or complete Family Treatment Center training prior to providing services to consumers with NorthCare. Must have and/or complete Core Level Co-Occurring Training, and Trauma Informed Training within 60 days of employment with NorthCare.
