Mr. Patrick Stapleton is the Chief Executive Officer of Sherrill House, a not-for-profit nursing and rehabilitation facility with more than a century-long tradition of providing exceptional eldercare in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. A licensed nursing home administrator since 1994, Mr. Stapleton joined Sherrill House in 2003 as the Executive Director, and was appointed Chief Executive in 2005. He previously led Mariner Health at Longwood, and went on to become a regional vice-president with Mariner Healthcare. Immediately prior to joining Sherrill House, Mr. Stapleton operated the Boston Center for Rehabilitation and Subacute Care, which was owned by Partners Healthcare and operated by Genesis Health Ventures. Mr. Stapleton serves as a Trustee of LeadingAge Massachusetts, formerly known as MassAging, and the Massachusetts Senior Care Association. In 2012, he was appointed to serve on the American Health Care Association’s Not-for-Profit Council. Mr. Stapleton also occupies the not-for-profit seat on the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Informal Dispute Resolution Panel. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton and serves on the hospital’s Finance Committee and CEO Search Committee. Modern Healthcare Magazine named Mr. Stapleton an “Up and Comer” in 2008. In 2011, in recognition of professional achievement, he advanced to Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Administrators. In January of this year he was appointed to serve on the Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators by Governor Deval Patrick. Mr. Stapleton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Salem State University and an M.S. degree in Health Care Administration from Simmons College. He is a life-long resident of Milton where he lives with his wife and two sons.
