Job Description
Position Overview:
The Special Education Paraprofessional at KIPP Kansas City plays a vital role in supporting students with disabilities by providing individualized assistance and support in the classroom. This position is designed to help ensure that students receive a high-quality education and have access to the resources and accommodations necessary for their success. The Special Education Paraprofessional will work closely with special education teachers and other staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support student learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
Assist the special education teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students during instruction, helping to reinforce concepts and skills.
Adapt instructional materials and methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

An Operating Room Technician - (ORT) is a member of the surgical team who acts as a primary scrub person and must be technically adept by handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary before, during and after the surgical procedure. ORTs are required to perform all cases that surgeons perform. He/She may also circulate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The ORT must be able to take call as scheduled, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, have excellent adaptation and coping skills, have excellent organizational skills and be a team player. POSITION PURPOSE:
Performs entry-level work associated with the repair and maintenance in various trades to include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, and glass/flooring installation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel; Google Apps;
Knowledge of hand and power tools, materials, and methods used in general maintenance work;
Effective time management skills;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to accurately read, interpret, and comply with departmental procedures;
Ability to provide attention to detail and to minimize errors;
Ability and physical strength sufficient to move objects;
Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and complete tasks in the absence of clear direction;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of NC requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in a general trade.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes work orders for scheduled maintenance tasks and special projects in regard to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, and glass/flooring installation.
Inspects facilities for needed maintenance or repairs; performs routine installation, maintenance, and repair tasks in/on buildings and mobile classrooms.
Performs physical duties such as carrying materials around facilities for maintenance, cleaning work sites, and obtaining and transporting supplies/tools/equipment.
Responds to inclement weather emergencies and/or natural disasters by cleaning and clearing debris.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment. This role is frequently exposed to hazardous materials, gases, and chemicals, and inclement weather conditions. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, external agencies, and the community. Work is considered medium physical work, requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving automotive equipment.

Job Description
Position Overview:
The 6-8 Math Interventionist supports teachers in delivering high-quality education to students. This role involves assisting with instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized support to ensure that all students achieve their learning goals. The Instructional Assistant plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher while working with individual students or small groups focused on math skills.
Assist with classroom management, creating an environment conducive to math development.
Support the teacher in planning, preparing, and implementing differentiated math instruction for individual students or groups.
Provide targeted math interventions to reinforce math concepts for struggling students.
Assist in the assessment of student math progress and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum
2 years experience working with students in Math
preferably in elementary or middle school Math
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Teaching license (any state); Missouri certification preferred
Strong knowledge of foundational math skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep understanding of the Mathematics and experience implementing multisyllabic decoding routines
Experience working with diverse student populations, including English Learners and students with IEPs
Demonstrated success accelerating reading growth for below-grade-level students
