Job Description
The PLC Coach works collaboratively, as part of the consultancy team within his/her assigned school(s), by working with the school leadership team to identify school improvement priorities, observing and providing feedback on classroom instruction, facilitating professional development, demonstrating lessons, and coaching teachers one-on-one and in small group settings. The job of the coach is to build the capacity of the school and its teachers to provide high quality instruction and ensure all students achieve rigorous standards of career and college readiness. The PLC Coach works primarily in direct support of teachers (e.g., conferencing, co-planning, observing, modeling, co-teaching/coaching). The PLC Coach participates in professional development and inquiry into his or her own instructional leadership practice. The Instructional Support Coach demonstrates positive expectations for students' learning and shares that vision of students' potential with coached teachers plays an important role in the review, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of data to inform instructional planning, practice, and decision-making aligned to region and school priorities, state standards, teacher development needs, and evidence-based practices. The Coach also helps to identify and leverage available resources aligned to school needs; communicate region priorities, strategies, and supports; and inform, design, and facilitate professional development at the region, school, and grade/department levels.
Essential Job Functions
Works as part of the leadership team with the building principal.
Provides assistance in conducting needs assessment strategies and program evaluation.
Identifies, plans, organizes and conducts professional development opportunities relevant to school needs; researches, identifies and models best practices.
Assists with Title I school-wide budget process.
Provides direction and support to Title I schools in the development of School Improvement Plans (TSIP) regarding regulations, inventory, and professional development research and implementation.
Conducts internal audits to ensure that all ESEA (Elementary & Secondary Education Act) requirements are included and met.
Works closely with building level leadership team in the development and implementation of professional learning communities and sustains the change process required to operate as a PLC.
Assists teacher teams in creating, administering, and analyzing data gathered from the results of common formative assessments.
Provides assistance to building level leadership team in collecting artifacts such as team norms, meeting agendas, standards documents, common formative assessments and meeting protocols from teacher teams to monitor and assess their progress.
Assists teacher teams in developing and implementing a school-wide pyramid of interventions based on the results of commonly administered assessments.
Assists teacher teams in implementing a guaranteed and viable curriculum by prioritizing, unwrapping standards, creating common standards and pacing documents.
Collects, organizes and completes information necessary for reports and evaluations.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related area plus an additional 5 years classroom teaching experience required
Current teachers must have proof of a level 3, 4, or 5 evaluation. Master's degree preferred.
Active Tennessee teaching license required with an endorsement appropriate to grade level. Active Administrator Licensure preferred.
Strong knowledge of No Child Left Behind laws and regulations
In-depth knowledge of principles of effective instruction from advance curriculum and content and instruction
Knowledge of growth and development and learning theory
Skill in assessment and evaluation of students
Ability to manage curriculum development, in-service training, and related activities and provide a high level of instructional leadership for teachers and administrators
Excellent human relations skills and ability to establish and maintain successful cooperative working relationship with appropriate school communities, and school-based and central office staffs
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Strong organizational and management skills.

Job Description
KIPP Memphis is looking for an exceptional Director of Literacy to serve as our region's content leader in literacy. The Director of Literacy is a regional position reporting to the Managing Director of Teaching and Learning and will serve as a critical member of the KIPP Memphis academic team. The Director of Literacy will work closely with the region's academic team, school leaders, and assistant principals. KIPP Memphis Public Schools believes in an explicit, systematic phonics-based approach to literacy and a direct instruction approach to foundational skills. The Director of Literacy will be charged with coaching teachers to improve their literacy instructional practices, supporting leaders in coaching and reviewing literacy data, supporting the implementation of literacy curriculum, leading professional development, driving literacy content team meetings, and developing with support the regional approach to literacy and reading intervention.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Grades K - 4 Early Literacy Program
Lead regular Early Literacy Team meetings, focusing on reviewing and responding to foundational skills data and adjustments to coaching & strategy plans

Communicate the vision and strategy across KIPP Memphis's schools in order to ensure that all instructional staff, students, families, and other stakeholders know and understand the vision for excellent, equitable literacy instruction and the regional academic strategy
Curriculum and Assessment
In year 1, identify high quality, vertically aligned Tier 2 literacy curriculum for our middle school along and build and support a plan for implementation of Tier 2 intervention
In year 1, support the selection of a high quality, vertically aligned pre-kindergarten core curriculum and design the literacy block
Provide literacy curriculum training to ensure teachers can execute against our existing literacy curriculum successfully and leaders can coach teachers to effectively implement the curriculum
Ensure intervention staff is trained
Monitor progress and analyze literacy data in order to identify bright spots and areas for growth
Support quarterly curriculum and assessment evaluation meetings by providing data and analysis to help leaders make data-informed choices for reteaching or other interventions
Partner with the Director of Talent and Equity to support culturally relevant and representative materials, teaching, and assessment.
Teacher and Leader Support
Observe, coach, and debrief literacy lessons, including lessons delivered in intervention groups and special education classes, with teachers to improve the quality of instructional practices and lead to increased student growth using the walkthrough and literacy rubrics
Observe, coach, and debrief school leaders' coaching of literacy instruction in order to improve leaders' coaching ability within their schools
Analyze and respond to region wide literacy teacher performance and achievement data to adjust approach and support struggling teachers and schools
Lead literacy content team meetings and develop teacher and school leaders to drive the work of content team meetings over time
Develop and facilitate professional development to support the improvement of literacy practices
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree required, preference for a Master's Degree in reading or a closely related degree with a Reading Specialist certification/evidence of coursework reading/literacy training equivalent to 9+ hours of college credits
Holds an active teaching license in elementary education
Minimum 6 years of elementary education teaching experience
Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Required:
Exceptional organizational, planning and project management skills

The ExEd Certified Reading Interventionist is responsible for the instruction, data collection, and overall growth of students in their classroom learning foundational reading skills at their current instructional level. Their work is aligned with the ultimate goal of closing achievement gaps and reaching grade-level proficiency as quickly as possible for students identified with learning disabilities in basic reading and fluency. Our ideal ExEd Certified Reading Interventionist is passionate about small group instruction, data analysis, and is a collaborative member of the school team. Reading Interventionists also receive regular coaching and feedback so a strong Reading Interventionist is open and driven to improve their craft and reflect on their own practices in support of students' growth and achievement. Because this role specifically supports students already identified as having learning disabilities, a strong ExEd Certified Reading Interventionist has experience in teaching and advocating for students with exceptionalities, specifically utilizing research-based methods in reading instruction such as Orton-Gillingham and/or practices aligned with the Science of Reading.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
LEAD Public Schools offers an innovative performance-based compensation plan for teachers. This plan allows us to transparently reward our teachers not by how many years they have worked but rather by their positive impact on students and schools, evidenced by their consistent performance in and out of the classroom. Teachers receive a competitive base salary with the potential for a signing bonus and can earn up to 10% on their base salary each year through our performance-based compensation plan. This plan has been in place for 5 years, and we have seen an average annual increase of over 5% for our teachers with approximately 80% retention for those who qualify. Additionally, teachers are eligible for LEAD's Master Teacher program after 3 years. In this program, teachers can earn up to $100,000 and receive a $1,500 professional development stipend.
Robust and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, supplemental insurance, life insurance policy options, and mental health benefits. Application for these benefits may be made immediately upon employment. The policy is effective upon the first of the month following the first day of work.
Certificated staff have access to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System pension plan (TCRS). Eligible staff contribute 5%, and LEAD matches up to 6%. Staff may also be eligible for 401k, in which LEAD will contribute 5%. Participation in TCRS is mandated by the state of TN.
Non-TCRS eligible staff members are eligible to participate in LEAD's defined contribution 403b plan. LEAD matches 50% of the first 6% of employee contributions. Additional annual contributions are provided to eligible employees after one year based on LEAD's overall budget performance. Participation in this plan is voluntary.
The time off package for school-year employees (teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals) includes 30 paid days during the school year (including holidays, fall break, thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break). School-year employees also receive summer break. In addition to breaks and holidays, school-year employees can accrue up to 10 PTO days during the school year.
The time off package for calendar-year employees (Central office, Instructional Managers, Assistant Principals) includes 32 paid days during the school year (including holidays, fall break, thanksgiving break, winter break, spring break). In addition to breaks and holidays, school-year employees can accrue up to 12 PTO days during the school year.
Parental leave - 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of paid parental leave (adoption, foster care).

Requirements
Education
Minimum of an earned Master of Science degree in Nursing; An earned doctorate in appropriate discipline with professional preparation/credentials in relevant specialty is preferred.
Experience
Prior program administration experience at the BSN level preferred
Evidence of effective teaching, service, and scholarly activities
Effective leadership and management skills
Documentation of applicable licenses/certification
Curriculum development experience;
Experience with planning, assessment, and evaluation processes.

South College - Nashville Campus is conducting a search for the position of adjunct clinical instructor to teach in the School of Nursing.
Responsibilities:
Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in the clinical settings.
Collaborate with course faculty and works closely with clinical coordinator.
Facilitate effective learning and critical thinking/reasoning during clinical while fostering a positive learning environment.
Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clinical agencies.
Monitors student progress with evaluations and grades care plans as assigned. Provides positive and constructive feedback if needed.
Requirements
Education
Prefer a Master's degree in Nursing.
BSN will be considered for LPN programming with significant clinical background or prior teaching experience.
Licensure
Hold an unrestricted license to practice in Tennessee.
