The Role
The Assistant School Leader of Operations serves as the voice and face of school operations, leading all non-instructional functions that enable our instructional team to focus almost exclusively on teaching and learning. This role is critical to creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and efficient school environment through strong operational systems and collaborative partnerships with team members and families.

Key Responsibilities
Student Recruitment and Enrollment
Lead student recruitment strategies and activities for the school and implement plans to meet enrollment targets
Oversee student enrollment processes, including application collection, lottery management, and registration
Analyze enrollment data to inform recruitment strategies and resource allocation
Student Attendance
Lead attendance improvement initiatives for the school and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism to the school's annually set target
Monitor attendance data and coordinate interventions for students with attendance concerns
Partner with school counselors, teachers, and families to address barriers to attendance
School Compliance and Safety
Oversee emergency preparedness, student health, and School Nutrition Program compliance for the school
Lead the implementation of emergency preparedness protocols, including the facilitation of monthly safety drills
Oversee student health operations and compliance, including immunization compliance
Manage food service operations, including smooth meal service systems and compliance with federal/state/local guidelines
Fiscal Compliance and Management
Manage school-based budgets and purchasing processes
Support annual budget planning and monitoring
Ensure timely submission of invoices and credit card reconciliations, including proper documentation for all financial transactions
Support the implementation of all KIPP SoCal financial policies at the school
Operations Team Leadership
Manage all operations staff at the school, including one to three office staff plus Operational Aides
Support and develop operations team members towards achieving both performance and developmental goals through regular check-ins and the implementation of KIPP SoCal's performance management process
Collaborate with school leadership team to align operations with instructional needs
Create, implement, and improve systems that contribute to operational excellence at the school
Manage partnership with the regional Facilities team and third-party vendors to ensure maintenance of the school's facilities
Plans and coordinates logistics for school events and activities as needed, including parent meetings, special events, fundraisers, and field trips

3+ years of experience in school operations, administration, or related field (experience in K-12 charter school operations is preferred)

Under the guidance of the regional Special Education leadership team, the Regional Case Manager will case manage the IEP process for a portfolio of 1-3 schools to drive forward and ensure special education compliance to established policies, procedures and/or regulations. All ideal candidates will be passionate about meeting the needs of all students, have specialized expertise working in special education, especially in the area of special education compliance, and have a “make it happen” attitude.
Case manage all IEPs at assigned sites and be responsible for all IEP development, including IEP meeting coordination and facilitation, and maintaining all required documentation as required by federal, state and district regulations
Effectively facilitate contentious IEP meetings, using a student-centered approach to resolving disagreements
Manage IEPs in district's Welligent or SEIS program
Ensure IEP timeline compliance of assigned caseload by using regionally mandated process and documentation
Complete weekly KIPP internal reporting documents for assigned sites
Develop related goals and objectives and recommend policies, planning, and implementation by working with school staff to meet the needs of students with special needs.
Serve as a resource for information regarding special education services, programs and policies and ensure that procedures are appropriate in relation to policies required by region, district, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Administer formal academic assessments, and write the accompanying academic reports
Analyze assessment results to drive IEP development
Monitor services provision using reports and communicate with stakeholders as needed about service provision
Serve as a resource and consult with teachers, administrators and KIPP regional staff.
Address other duties and processes required to maintain the region's program of services and compliance for assigned sites
Attend regular meetings/trainings for regional case managers as well as at assigned sites for continued professional development and community building
Maintain knowledge of current Special Education regulations and best practices
Support teachers and administrators in implementation of appropriate strategies to meet the needs of students with IEPs
Address all parent communication related to the IEP process, including scheduling, notification, coordination of IEP service delivery
Develop appropriate behavior support plans for students with special needs
Coordinate progress report completion in accordance with district guidelines
Manage relationships with outside vendors to ensure students receive all individually- prescribed IEPs services (i.e. Occupational Therapy, Language and Speech, etc.)
Participate in the RTI/SSPT process as appropriate
Manage and/or assist with the development of 504 plans at assigned sites
Teach Extended School Year during the summer
Covering classroom instruction in the event of a vacancy
Develop and provide ongoing professional development for general and special education staff and administrators
Develop positive relationships with parents and families in order to engage them in the IEP process and keep them apprised of student progress
Collaborate with regional Student Services team to explore the full continuum of services
Assist in the preparation of Informal Dispute Resolution, mediation and due process material
Serve as a mentor and support to other special education staff members at assigned sites
Other duties/projects as assigned by the Regional Special Education Leadership Team
You'll Be Qualified If You Have
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required; Master's degree with emphasis in special education highly preferred
Valid California credential for Level I or Level II Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate with Autism Authorization or Moderate/Severe) credential
Possession of either BCLAD or CLAD certification highly desirable
3 years of effective case management skills required
Minimum of 2 years of highly effective teaching experience demonstrating a strong track record of student performance gains with students with IEPs
Experience facilitating contentious IEPs which lead to IEP team consensus
Access to reliable transportation as you may be required to travel between school sites within any given day

Job DescriptionThe K-8 Science Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Teaching & Learning or Regional Coach. They will lead the design and implementation of the KIPP SoCal science approach. All efforts driven by the Science Specialist will be in service of an equitable, inclusive, rigorous, and diverse learning experience in science for all students. In collaboration with the AD of Teaching & Learning and Director of Teaching & Learning, the Science Specialist will create and document an inclusive, equitable, and culturally relevant vision for excellence in science
Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning team to create the enabling systems to realize the vision
Research, recommend, and review curricular and assessment options
Lead any adaptation efforts to science curricula to better meet the needs of students (e.g. adjusting lessons / units per the gradual release of responsibility instructional framework).
Monitor and lead the creation and adjustment of regional scopes and sequences for science
Monitor and, when relevant, lead the creation of regional formative and summative science assessments
In collaboration with the Teaching & Learning team, analyze regional science data and create support plans
Conduct science observations and walkthroughs in collaboration with the members of the Teaching & Learning team and school site-level instructional leaders.
Lead the planning and execution of regional professional development in science
Plan and lead professional development at schools in science on an ad hoc or on-going basis based on individual schools' needs in science
Coach and develop specific teachers across schools when needed
Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning team to plan and lead content team meetings for science
Collaborate with the direct manager to craft a personalized professional learning plan (e.g. text study, workshops, conferences, school visits, etc.) to build knowledge and capacity in science content and teaching and learning instructional methods and practices
Collaborate with Teaching & Learning team on general academic projects for the region
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (required)
4-5 years of teaching experience, preferably charter schools and in TK-4GR settings
Deep experience with and knowledge best practice research methods for elementary and middle school science
Familiarity with Amplify science curriculum strongly preferred
Experience driving outcomes for students of all skill levels
Critical thinking skills and creativity in building strong systems and structures that support science instruction
Extensive experience designing and leading professional development and training sessions to a variety of teacher and leader experience levels
Excellent project management skills
Experience leading teams to drive results; examples: grade level chairs, department chairs, instructional coach of multiple new teachers

Compensation
KIPP SoCal Public Schools offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $79,200 to $118,800. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint of $99,000 depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budget allocated for this role.

About the School Leader Fellow Program
KIPP SoCal Public School's School Leader Fellow Program is a primarily a two year residency program designed for aspiring school leaders. During the Fellow Program, participants serve as Assistant School Leaders to their assigned site.
The program focuses on leadership development within a placement school, followed by a transition period to serve as a successor school leader either at that school site or, potentially, a different one. Through targeted development, coaching and mentoring, and formal learning, fellows will develop and deepen the instructional and adaptive skills to prepare them to successfully lead a KIPP SoCal school.

Residency: Fellows will be full-time members of their residency school leadership teams, which will provide them with daily opportunities to practice the skills and competencies required to lead high-performing schools. In their role, program participants will coach and develop teachers through the instructional leadership cycle and contribute to the overall academic and cultural vision of the school. Fellows are committed to and actively contribute to the success of their placement school and act in alignment with the school leadership team's vision and priorities.
Individual Development Plan: Fellows will have individual development plans aligned to the KIPP Leading for Learning Actions and KIPP Leadership Competency Model. These development plans will create a scope and sequence for their learning.
Progression Checkpoints: Fellows will be regularly evaluated on the skills and competencies of an effective school leader. Progression checkpoints are scheduled throughout the duration of the program. To be formally considered for a school leadership role, the Fellow must demonstrate proficiency on all program benchmarks.
Coaching: One-on-one coaching from a mentor school leader and Director of Leadership Development.
Coaching: One-on-one coaching from a Regional Academic Leader and/or Mentor School Leader.
Professional Development: Fellows will engage in cohort learning aligned with the program's development roadmap to support their learning. This PD will come through a combination of region-led and externally-led workshops, individual text studies, and case studies.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Currently serving as an Assistant School Leader/Assistant Principal, or equivalent school-wide instructional leadership role at the time of application.
Possession of a valid California preliminary or clear teaching credential or out of state credential equivalent is strongly preferred
Possession of a valid California preliminary or clear administrative credential or out of state credential equivalent is strongly preferred
Evidence of significant and consistent personal and professional achievement within the public charter school space in California is highly desirable
Worked in a school in which >50% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch
Commitment to equity and anti-racist practices
At the time of beginning the fellowship, applicants must have:
3+ year(s) of lead teaching experience with demonstrated student performance results
2+ years(s) of experience in an instructional school-wide leadership role, such as an assistant school leader with demonstrated impact and results
Candidates with less experience than required above will not be considered for this Fellowship and will have their application re-routed to a different role and/or process
Compensation
Applicants selected to be a School Leader Fellow will be placed on KIPP SoCal's Assistant School Leader salary table.
KIPP SoCal School Leader Fellows also receive a bonus worth up to $10,000 based on completion of key milestones during the program.
External to KIPP SoCal candidates can receive up to 3 years past experience credit from equivalent leadership roles counted toward their placement on the Assistant School Leader table. That salary table placement is determined by the KIPP SoCal Talent Team using evidence gathered in the application and interview process.
Additionally, all travel expenses and coursework associated with the fellowship are paid for by KIPP SoCal and/or the KIPP Foundation.

The Opportunity
KIPP SoCal provides expanded learning programs before school, after school, in summer school or through intersession learning opportunities. These programs focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. Serve as a member of the Community Schools Advisory Committee to ensure that Social-Emotional supports are living throughout the school.

Provide school-based individual and group counseling services to students with IEPs with Designated Instructional Service (DIS) counseling goals/needs
Maintain documentation within compliance of KIPP SoCal regulation and procedures
Provide advocacy, child welfare, and case management services to students
Collaborate with all school staff including Regional Case Manager, Resource Specialist (RSP), School Psychologist and Special Education Program Specialist for the continued evaluation of current DIS counseling students
Assess, identify and provide clinical interventions to students with emotional, social, attendance and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population.
Provide threat assessment and risk management crisis services.
Collaborate with community-based agencies and provide referral services
Participate in the development of school-wide social-emotional scope and sequence for Tiered implementation of lessons with the collaboration of Administration and School Based Counselors.
Facilitate staff trainings and professional development bringing knowledge of developmental social/emotional needs of students
Be a resource for school site personnel on mental health and social/emotional issues that may affect classroom performance

The Opportunity
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant will provide speech and language therapy for students in grades K-8 at various KIPP SoCal school sites. They will focus on developing students' oral communication skills to support their ability to access their educational program. The Role

Key Responsibilities
Student Recruitment and Enrollment
Lead student recruitment strategies and activities for the school and implement plans to meet enrollment targets
Oversee student enrollment processes, including application collection, lottery management, and registration
Analyze enrollment data to inform recruitment strategies and resource allocation
Student Attendance
Lead attendance improvement initiatives for the school and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism to the school's annually set target
Monitor attendance data and coordinate interventions for students with attendance concerns
Partner with school counselors, teachers, and families to address barriers to attendance
School Compliance and Safety
Oversee emergency preparedness, student health, and School Nutrition Program compliance for the school
Lead the implementation of emergency preparedness protocols, including the facilitation of monthly safety drills
Oversee student health operations and compliance, including immunization compliance
Manage food service operations, including smooth meal service systems and compliance with federal/state/local guidelines
Fiscal Compliance and Management
Manage school-based budgets and purchasing processes
Support annual budget planning and monitoring
Ensure timely submission of invoices and credit card reconciliations, including proper documentation for all financial transactions
Support the implementation of all KIPP SoCal financial policies at the school
Operations Team Leadership
Manage all operations staff at the school, including one to three office staff plus Operational Aides
Support and develop operations team members towards achieving both performance and developmental goals through regular check-ins and the implementation of KIPP SoCal's performance management process
Collaborate with school leadership team to align operations with instructional needs
Create, implement, and improve systems that contribute to operational excellence at the school
Manage partnership with the regional Facilities team and third-party vendors to ensure maintenance of the school's facilities
Plans and coordinates logistics for school events and activities as needed, including parent meetings, special events, fundraisers, and field trips

Under the guidance of the regional Special Education leadership team, the Regional Case Manager will case manage the IEP process for a portfolio of 1-3 schools to drive forward and ensure special education compliance to established policies, procedures and/or regulations. All ideal candidates will be passionate about meeting the needs of all students, have specialized expertise working in special education, especially in the area of special education compliance, and have a “make it happen” attitude.
Case manage all IEPs at assigned sites and be responsible for all IEP development, including IEP meeting coordination and facilitation, and maintaining all required documentation as required by federal, state and district regulations
Effectively facilitate contentious IEP meetings, using a student-centered approach to resolving disagreements
Manage IEPs in district's Welligent or SEIS program
Ensure IEP timeline compliance of assigned caseload by using regionally mandated process and documentation
Complete weekly KIPP internal reporting documents for assigned sites
Develop related goals and objectives and recommend policies, planning, and implementation by working with school staff to meet the needs of students with special needs.
Serve as a resource for information regarding special education services, programs and policies and ensure that procedures are appropriate in relation to policies required by region, district, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Administer formal academic assessments, and write the accompanying academic reports
Analyze assessment results to drive IEP development
Monitor services provision using reports and communicate with stakeholders as needed about service provision
Serve as a resource and consult with teachers, administrators and KIPP regional staff.
Address other duties and processes required to maintain the region's program of services and compliance for assigned sites
Attend regular meetings/trainings for regional case managers as well as at assigned sites for continued professional development and community building
Maintain knowledge of current Special Education regulations and best practices
Support teachers and administrators in implementation of appropriate strategies to meet the needs of students with IEPs
Address all parent communication related to the IEP process, including scheduling, notification, coordination of IEP service delivery
Develop appropriate behavior support plans for students with special needs
Coordinate progress report completion in accordance with district guidelines
Manage relationships with outside vendors to ensure students receive all individually- prescribed IEPs services (i.e. Occupational Therapy, Language and Speech, etc.)
Participate in the RTI/SSPT process as appropriate
Manage and/or assist with the development of 504 plans at assigned sites
Teach Extended School Year during the summer
Covering classroom instruction in the event of a vacancy
Develop and provide ongoing professional development for general and special education staff and administrators
Develop positive relationships with parents and families in order to engage them in the IEP process and keep them apprised of student progress
Collaborate with regional Student Services team to explore the full continuum of services
Assist in the preparation of Informal Dispute Resolution, mediation and due process material
Serve as a mentor and support to other special education staff members at assigned sites
Other duties/projects as assigned by the Regional Special Education Leadership Team
You'll Be Qualified If You Have
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required; Master's degree with emphasis in special education highly preferred
Valid California credential for Level I or Level II Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate with Autism Authorization or Moderate/Severe) credential
Possession of either BCLAD or CLAD certification highly desirable

About the School Leader Fellow Program
KIPP SoCal Public School's School Leader Fellow Program is a primarily a two year residency program designed for aspiring school leaders. During the Fellow Program, participants serve as Assistant School Leaders to their assigned site.
The program focuses on leadership development within a placement school, followed by a transition period to serve as a successor school leader either at that school site or, potentially, a different one. Through targeted development, coaching and mentoring, and formal learning, fellows will develop and deepen the instructional and adaptive skills to prepare them to successfully lead a KIPP SoCal school.

If you progress to the final selection event, we will invite you to approximately 1.5 days of interviews currently scheduled for February 26-27, 2026. Residency: Fellows will be full-time members of their residency school leadership teams, which will provide them with daily opportunities to practice the skills and competencies required to lead high-performing schools. In their role, program participants will coach and develop teachers through the instructional leadership cycle and contribute to the overall academic and cultural vision of the school. Fellows are committed to and actively contribute to the success of their placement school and act in alignment with the school leadership team's vision and priorities.
Individual Development Plan: Fellows will have individual development plans aligned to the KIPP Leading for Learning Actions and KIPP Leadership Competency Model. These development plans will create a scope and sequence for their learning.
Progression Checkpoints: Fellows will be regularly evaluated on the skills and competencies of an effective school leader. Progression checkpoints are scheduled throughout the duration of the program. To be formally considered for a school leadership role, the Fellow must demonstrate proficiency on all program benchmarks.
Coaching: One-on-one coaching from a mentor school leader and Director of Leadership Development.
Coaching: One-on-one coaching from a Regional Academic Leader and/or Mentor School Leader.
Professional Development: Fellows will engage in cohort learning aligned with the program's development roadmap to support their learning. This PD will come through a combination of region-led and externally-led workshops, individual text studies, and case studies.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Currently serving as an Assistant School Leader/Assistant Principal, or equivalent school-wide instructional leadership role at the time of application.
Possession of a valid California preliminary or clear teaching credential or out of state credential equivalent is strongly preferred
Possession of a valid California preliminary or clear administrative credential or out of state credential equivalent is strongly preferred
Evidence of significant and consistent personal and professional achievement within the public charter school space in California is highly desirable
Worked in a school in which >50% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch
Commitment to equity and anti-racist practices
At the time of beginning the fellowship, applicants must have:
3+ year(s) of lead teaching experience with demonstrated student performance results
2+ years(s) of experience in an instructional school-wide leadership role, such as an assistant school leader with demonstrated impact and results
Candidates with less experience than required above will not be considered for this Fellowship and will have their application re-routed to a different role and/or process
Compensation
Applicants selected to be a School Leader Fellow will be placed on KIPP SoCal's Assistant School Leader salary table.
KIPP SoCal School Leader Fellows also receive a bonus worth up to $10,000 based on completion of key milestones during the program.
External to KIPP SoCal candidates can receive up to 3 years past experience credit from equivalent leadership roles counted toward their placement on the Assistant School Leader table. That salary table placement is determined by the KIPP SoCal Talent Team using evidence gathered in the application and interview process.
Additionally, all travel expenses and coursework associated with the fellowship are paid for by KIPP SoCal and/or the KIPP Foundation.

This Dean role opening is an instructional staff and manager position for KIPP Philosophers Academy (5GR-8GR) in Watts. Start date can be immediate.
The Dean's job is to support the school leader and/or Assistant School Leader in driving academic and character outcomes for students as a key member of the school's leadership team. Deans lead both instruction and school culture. The dean will work in conjunction with the school leader and other members of the school leadership team to invest a team of mission-driven educators to execute on the necessary components to meet the vision of the school.

Understands the implications of standards on what a student should know and be able to do, connect teachers with relevant resources to improve their content knowledge, and therefore what a teacher needs to know and be able to do to facilitate student mastery;
Studies curriculum and assessment content and further develops understanding of how assessments map to content mastery, and what is required of students and teachers to accomplish mastery on the assessments;
Teaches teachers how to assess for both student mastery and growth towards college readiness and insists that assessments are used to inform teacher instruction;
Develops own and teacher's knowledge of best practices in instructional methods and teaches teachers how to match particular strategies to gaps in student mastery
Develops teachers to provide rigorous and high quality instruction
Provide high-quality instructional coaching with frequent and scheduled teacher observations, actionable and bite-sized feedback, and accountability for adjustment in practice;
May lead or coach others who lead department/content/grade-level meetings that focus on planning for and norming on instruction and culture, practicing instructional strategies, and progress monitoring the department/content/grade level;
Lead engaging, actionable, adult-learning workshops; and hold staff accountable for implementation of the workshop practices
Leading data-driven instruction
Help teachers to determine how data aligns to end-of-year goals, break-out data to analyze how different student groups are performing, determine what data is saying about areas of student mastery and growth, and identify specific instructional actions and adjustments to fill students' knowledge and skill gaps and a timeline to do so
Modeling strong staff and student culture
Help manage school-wide character development and behavior management systems;
Supports teachers in understanding process and roles in student support and intervention and develops systems and structures to ensure that limited time is spent on reactive response;
Manages parts of daily school operations (e.g. arrival/dismissal, lunch/recess, school trips);
Acts as the first point of contact for student intervention and parent engagement and for any issues that rise to the Leadership Team;
Supports a culture where excellence is paramount by holding self and others accountable for achieving it
Leadership Qualifications
Experience: Strong instructional coaching background (department chair, grade level chair, etc.)
Student Focus: Belief that all students, regardless of background, have the ability to go to and through college; demonstrated commitment to the school's unique community
Build Relationships: Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with students, families, teachers and colleagues based on mutual respect, integrity and trust.
Cultural Competence: Demonstrated ability to create inclusive environments that honor and support a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives and support KIPP SoCal's belief that education is for liberation
Planning, Prioritization and Execution: Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute on own and grade/department team's work
Direction-Setting and Team Leadership: Ability to lead a grade/department team to reach its vision and goals
Achievement Orientation and Performance Management: Demonstrated student achievement results in own classroom and from teachers that he/she coaches. Demonstrated resilience and focus on student outcomes.
Instructional Leadership: Adept at data analysis; able to analyze student achievement data and identify team/individual teacher adjustments to instruction. Has built proficiency across own grade/department content standards and how they are assessed.
