We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Urbandale IA office As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for providing a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff. This could be technical, project management, marketing or business development in nature. Some key duties and responsibilities include: Responsible for complete design by discipline for projects of all sizes Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff Plans design work by discipline for all project sizes and assigns duties to staff working on projects Reviews correspondence prepared by junior staff Actively participates in quality control of projects Technical Path: Contributes to leadership in some aspect of our Technical Operations Team for both large and small projects. Acts as an advisor and analyzes technical problems/writes reports. Plays a significant role in project reviews for quality control for large complex projects. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. They will be responsible for working closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget, train, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. Principal Responsibilities • Lead design efforts for the analysis of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
