The ideal individual would need to travel between our office locations in Elkhart, Goshen, Granger, Nappanee and Middlebury, Indiana. This position will be placed within our Elkhart California Road Corporate office but must be able to travel to any OSMC location. This position will report directly to the Practice Physicians with a dotted line reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) refers to a healthcare professional, including a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, who has advanced training and can provide an advanced level of medical tasks independently and collaborates with a physician. The APP will assess and treat patients using advanced clinical knowledge and skills to identify abnormal conditions, order and analyze diagnostic images, educate on pre and post operative care, diagnose health problems, develop and implement treatment plans, evaluate patient outcomes, and collaborate with or refer to physicians in the practice and community, as well as assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures, wound closure and casting. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in an Ortho setting with a Master's Degree from an accredited (ARC-PA) Physician Assistant program, a Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), State licensure as a Physician Assistant, a Controlled substance license and DEA registration, CSR Prescriptive Authority, Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or the following Nurse Practitioner educational requirements of a Master's Degree from an accredited (APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program, Certification as an Adult or Family Advanced Practitioner through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Nurse Practitioner Credentialing Center (NPCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), State licensure as an APRN, Controlled substance license and DEA registration, CSR Prescriptive Authority, and Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

The ideal candidate will assist all physicians and clinical staff with patient care, procedural, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. This role will require you to travel to all the other sites to assist with your doctor at other OSMC clinic locations. Essential Functions: (This list may not include all the duties assigned) 1. Review daily schedule and room of patients according to schedule. 2. Accurate and complete electronic documentation of patient information including, but not limited to histories, medications, and allergies. 3. Demonstrates competency in utilizing NextGen EHR, EPM, Outlook programs. Accesses PiCom and Mmodal as needed. 4. Completes patient data extractions prior to initial patient visit. Assures availability of test results for the appointment (i.e., MRI, X-Rays, EMG, labs, etc.) as needed. 5. Checks for new orders. Follows through with those orders (removes casts/staples/sutures and sends patient to x-ray) 6. Learns physician preferences. Maintains specific requests of primary physician assignment. 7. Assists and applies casts and splints. Assists with injections, aspirations, and dressing changes. 8. Assists with minor procedures and sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol. 9. Assists patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, and preparing for exams. 10. Floating as needed in clinic. To be determined per Dept Leader. 11. Responds in a timely fashion to verbal requests and light board system. 12. Relays instructions to patients/family members. Handles appropriate patient care issues independently. Refers other issues to the dept. leader/clinic director/or physician, as necessary. 13. Provides clear communication to the patient about the specifics of future appointments and any prep necessary. Appointment date, time and location are clearly documented on the computer for others to follow-up on. 14. Tasks requests as needed to OSMC Diagnostic Imaging, Pre-Cert or Work Comp. 15. Preforms clinic opening and closing duties. 16. Cleans exam/procedure rooms. Soaks, cleans, packages, and sterilizes instruments and equipment. 17. Ensures all rooms are organized and stocked with supplies. Check expiration dates and pull and replace supplies as needed. 18. Travels to other office locations when needed. 19. Attends meetings as required. 20. Maintains patient confidentiality. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Knowledge and understanding of OSMC's policies and procedures, including HIP AA privacy compliance. 2. Knowledge of computer programs, applications, and office equipment. 3. Knowledge and application of infection control and safety policies and procedures to establish/maintain a safe work environment. 4. Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. 5. Knowledge of the health care field, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient care. 6. Must be highly organized with strong time management skills. 7. Strong work ethic, reliable, good sense of judgment with good attitude. 8. Ability to work independently and as a team member and organize/prioritize tasks effectively. 9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. 10. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 11.
