This position is also responsible for a variety of outdoor maintenance tasks, and contributing towards ensuring that all school properties are kept safe, clean, and well-presented. KEY FUNCTIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General Groundskeeping: 1. Regularly picks up trash, cleans grounds, and empties outside trash barrels to maintain a clean and tidy environment. 2. Performs edging and mowing of all grass areas to ensure well-kept lawns across campuses. 3. Hoes, prunes, weeds, and waters plant areas to promote healthy growth and maintain attractive landscapes. 4. Operates tractors and other landscaping equipment, responsible for the loading and unloading of these machines and their associated tools. 5. Aerates and fertilizes football fields, practice fields, baseball fields, and other recreational areas to ensure optimal condition for sports and activities. 6. Plants shrubs, trees, and grass as per landscaping plans or directives, contributing to the aesthetic and ecological value of the school grounds. 7. Maintains proper drainage systems across all campuses to prevent water accumulation and ensure safety during inclement weather. 8. Ensures pathways, walkways, and sidewalks within the campus are clear of debris, leaves, and other weather related elements to ensure the safe passage for students, staff, and visitors. 9. Assists in monitoring grounds for signs of pest infestation, applies eco-friendly treatments, as directed, and assists in the application of pest control measures to maintain healthy and safe school environments. 10. Identifies and reports safety hazards or damages in outdoor areas to the appropriate personnel, and in accordance with applicable protocol. 11. Ensures timely and accurate completion of paperwork orders related to grounds maintenance activities, or as otherwise directed. 12.
