Kleinfelder's Northern California & Pacific Area is looking to seeking a creative, highly talented, Senior Geotechnical Engineer to expand and help lead a team of engineers, manage projects, and develop client portfolios. The ideal candidate will sit in our Concord, CA or San Francisco, CA office with the ability to travel 1 to 2 days a week to our Santa Rosa, CA office.
This professional will support a variety of public and private clients in the areas of commercial development, school and university work, transportation, oil and gas, power and water projects across Northern and Central California, and other locations nationally.
As part of the assigned duties the Geotechnical Engineer will develop technical scope for proposals, perform geotechnical engineering design and prepare geotechnical engineering reports as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record. This position will include staff supervision and mentoring to assure delivery of industry-specific solutions to our clients. The successful candidate will assure client needs are met by providing constructible designs, meeting deadlines, and creating clear communications with our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
* Experience with performing foundation capacity analysis, slope stability analysis, liquefaction assessments, and settlement analysis
* Experience planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs including assigning laboratory testing
* Experience guiding staff engineers in performing material and site characterization, seepage, slope stability, settlement analyses, etc.
* Experience preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects including transportation, water, retail, hospitality, commercial, etc.
* Experience supporting project managers in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks
* Experience preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards
* Experience supervising field observation, testing, and performing site visits
* Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical, client-focused solutions
* Experience leading teams and professionally develop staff at all levels

* Possess a thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering - Master's preferred

Kleinfelder is looking for a PCI Level II/III Engineer, including a Professional Engineer with PCI Certification to join our growing team. The PCI Level II/III Engineer (PE) will serve as a senior team lead for field and plant quality oversight for precast concrete components initially focused on a Bay Area transportation project. The position will include oversight during the project of 3-4 PCI certified inspectors. This position will ensure full compliance with project contractual and PCI quality standards during fabrication, delivery, and erection of structural and architectural precast elements. The lead Inspector (PE) will apply professional engineering judgment to verify construction conformance, quality control and quality assurance processes supporting the delivery of safe, durable, and long-lasting rail infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced Quality inspections of precast and prestressed concrete elements including girders, pier caps, platform panels, parapets, and structural segments.
* Ensure all work complies with PCI MNL-116, MNL-117, MNL-135, project specifications, and approved shop drawings.
* Oversee and document stages of production, including reinforcement placement, prestressing operations, concrete batching, placement, curing, stripping, finishing, and handling/storage.
* Observe and verify post-tensioning, grouting.
* Conduct or witness concrete field tests (slump, temperature, air, cylinders) and confirm calibration of all test equipment.
* Review inspection reports, test data, and material certifications as appropriate for PE-level accountability.
* Evaluate concrete mix designs, material submittals, and prestressing strand documentation for compliance with contract and PCI requirements.
* Maintain thorough daily inspection logs, photos, and nonconformance records within approved project documentation platforms.
* Coordinate closely with Contractor QC, Contractor QA, and other oversight personnel to ensure timely issue resolution and compliance verification.
* Participate in pre-pour and pre-erection meetings, quality audits, and third-party inspections.
* Provide technical oversight and mentorship to Level II/III inspectors and advise the CM team QA Manager on risk areas or process improvements.
* Promote and enforce project safety and environmental compliance requirements in all field activities.
Qualifications
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California (required or obtainable within six months of hire).
* PCI Level II or Level III Certification (required).
* Minimum 7-10 years of progressively responsible QA/QC or inspection experience with precast or prestressed concrete on major transportation or rail infrastructure projects.
* Proven knowledge of ACI, ASTM, and PCI requirements.
* Demonstrated experience overseeing fabrication QA/QC programs at PCI-certified plants and field erection of structural components.
* Proficiency with Procore, CMIS, BIM 360, or equivalent documentation platforms.
* Strong technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.
* OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction Safety training (preferred).

Work on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects. Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
* Assist with designs for upgrades, expansions of medium voltage and low voltage distribution, and green field design.
* Prepare electrical design (plans and specifications) for projects per NFPA 70 requirements to include various systems such as switchgear, pumping plants, pumps, lighting, HVAC, fire protection detection and suppression panels, and other miscellaneous loads.
* Engineering of physical design (above & below grade) for conduit and cable routing in sufficient detail to construct.
* Assist with drawing preparation, markup, back check for electrical equipment\conduit arrangement drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Specify conduit and cable, prepare calculations to support the design.
* Assist with site surveys and verification of installation.
* Assist with power system studies, including arc flash assessment.
* Assist with engineering calculations, make recommendations to develop electrical design options, and assist in the preparation of engineering procedures and specifications.
* Assist with data processing and statistical analysis, development of data plots and graphs.
* Participating in project site visits in conjunction with the Project Manager, Sr. Electrical Engineer, and other disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities
Our Northern California Transportation Business Group is looking for a strong Senior Environmental Transportation Planner with a thorough understanding and experience both supporting and managing a range of project types. The successful candidate for this position will be involved with working with our client, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in addition to other transportation agencies. Your Role

As part of our Resilience Environment team, you'll help improve quality of life. You will work alongside Senior Scientists, Project/Program Managers, and Technical Experts on various activities in support of diverse environmental assessment and remediation projects. Role accountabilities:
Our services encompass a range of responsibilities aimed at engineering design and optimization support for treatment systems. You will specialize in providing program support for a diverse portfolio of projects underway, catering to both the US Federal Government and industrial clients.
You will actively participate in field investigations, sampling activities, pilot programs, and full-scale remedial efforts. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in fostering effective communication by engaging in face-to-face meetings with clients, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities could include a combination of field and office related tasks and will include periodic travel.
These responsibilities may include:
Operation and maintenance oversight for remediation systems (both water and vapor treatment systems)
Design and oversight of system improvement projects as well as system upgrades
Soil and groundwater investigation and sample collection
Site characterization, remedial design, and feasibility studies
Data compilation, evaluation, and QA/QC
Report writing, permitting, cost estimating support
Coordination with project managers and senior engineering staff
The successful candidate will be involved in interpreting and evaluating field and analytical data in order to prepare engineering designs, permit applications, and construction-related documents. Environmental remediation design tasks, including soil and groundwater remedial system and in-situ technology treatment design and assessments are also a part of this exciting role. This position will require travel and field work.
In summary, an ideal candidate for the position would have proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication skills, a focus on health and safety, and excellent teambuilding and organizational abilities. These attributes will contribute to their success in the role and enable them to make valuable contributions to projects. Field work will require regional business travel for up to 1-2 days per week on average. A few times per year, travel will be required within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time. Estimated travel is up to 75% during the first two years, with travel reduced with career growth. By the third year, travel for field work is typically 50%. Travel expenses are reimbursable.

Tetra Tech Solid Waste West (SWW) is seeking an Environmental Field Technician.
Environmental Field Technicians are the backbone of our Operations Monitoring & Maintenance (OM&M) group. They receive hands on practical experience by performing various tasks involved with monitoring & maintaining the Gas Collection & Control Systems (GCCS) on our sites.
Our project sites offer a unique working environment that allows our technicians to gain experience both on an operational and a regulatory level within the solid waste industry. The pay scale for this position is $24 to $32 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
* Ensuring all regulatory objectives and due dates are being met. Including the proper collection and documentation of environmental data.
* The Operation & Maintenance of Gas Collection & Control System's (GCCS) on our projects. Including performing Routine & Non-Routine maintenance on GCCS components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance.
* Monitoring and analyzing landfill gas (LFG) and liquids.
* Monitoring and maintaining the liquids conveyance & extraction systems within the GCCS. Perform maintenance on pneumatic pumps, airlines, and force mains.
* Critical thinking and proactive problem solving of complex GCCS issues.
* Travel to the job site daily. Site location will vary dependent on need. Occasionally, travel out of state or long distances may be required.
* Assist in Routine and Non-Routine tasks involving the operation and maintenance of GCCS activities including the collection of data, repairs, maintenance, and construction activities.
* Troubleshoot GCCS infrastructure and liquids extraction issues.
* Keep and maintain field logs both via phone app (provided) and other methods.
* Tetra Tech will provide all necessary tools and equipment to perform the work involved. It is the technician's job to take care of the tools & equipment they are issued and ensure they remain in good condition.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Minimum High School Diploma and 1 year of general working experience.
* Preferred A.S or B.S Degree in environmental, other natural science (geology, biology, ecology etc.), or another relevant field.
* Proficient in the use of a PC, specifically Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
* Ability to keep and maintain field logs.
* Ability to respond to GCCS call-out devices 24/7. Including Holidays & weekends.
* Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain.
* Work outside in the environment in all types of seasonal weather conditions safely. Including both hot and cold weather conditions.
* Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
* Pass a company paid, baseline health physical and drug screening, as required.
* Ability to obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver's license and ability to drive to job sites.
* Complete the USEPA HAZWOPR, 40-hour, environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes.
* Ability to develop a good working knowledge of flame-ionization detectors, photo-ionization detectors, explosive gas detectors, water level detectors PH/temperature/conductivity meters, and other typical environmental monitoring equipment.
* Ability to learn general gas, soil, and air sampling techniques including applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to be familiar with operation and maintenance techniques for landfill gas and landfill fluids collection systems as well landfill gas data, data processing techniques, and databases.
* Ability to fill out professional business documents (letters, reports, memoranda, etc.)
