    Job Description Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Senior Structural Engineer-Hydropower Lead in either our Portland, Oregon or Redmond, Washington offices to develop hydropower engineering work in the region and support projects across Kleinschmidt. We also welcome candidates based in the West Coast region, with a particular emphasis on those located in California or Alaska. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment. Salary: $115,000 - $185,000/year (based on experience) Who You Are Knowledgeable: A licensed Professional Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 15 years' experience in hydropower engineering, business development, client management, and project management. Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to the structural engineering discipline is required. Experience with analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in and around water, concrete dams, gates, spillways, penstocks and powerhouse structures. The candidate should show experience with coordinating multidiscipline designs and design teams with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers. The candidate should have experience working in the field with clients and contractors during the planning and construction of projects. The candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills to manage projects and clients and be passionate about mentoring junior-level staff. Project Manager: Experience working on and managing all aspects of large, multi-discipline, complex projects , working directly with senior leaders and the project team to provide practical solutions to complex problems affecting renewable energy, water, and the environment. Relationship-focused: Ability to establish long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering challenges. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction. Additional Requirements Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States. Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license. Position Overview We are seeking a Civil/Airport Staff Engineer in our Philadelphia office to support our Northeast Region and national aviation projects. You will be working as part of a team assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations. This position is diversified with time being spent on hands-on horizontal airfield design and construction inspection. This opportunity will allow you to interact with customers, FAA/DOT personnel, permitting officials and multi-disciplinary C&S teams. This is a full-time position with a focus on airfield design and construction of horizontal airfield projects offering competitive compensation, great employee benefits and an outstanding work environment. You will support the development of engineering plans utilizing CAD software including 3D models, engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Position Responsibilities Preparation of design documents including plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, etc. Coordinating with sub-consultants, interpreting design standards, attending client meetings and coordinating multi-discipline teams. Collect and prepare data for evaluation. Opportunities exist to lead/support other projects in offices across the country.
