The Clinical Hemodialysis Technician functions as an interdisciplinary team member to meet patient and family care needs within the Mayo Clinic Dialysis Services (MCDS) system. Under the supervision of the RN, is responsible for providing assistance in the provision of dialysis services through multiple roles. These roles include but are not limited to: direct patient care and observations, basic hemodialysis techniques and procedures, equipment maintenance, water treatment monitoring, vascular access monitoring, cleaning and disinfection of the hemodialysis machine, preparation of bicarbonate dialysate and acid concentrate, drawing blood samples and preparing them for transport, and performing both simple and complex laboratory tests and the required quality controls. Participation in quality improvement activities to maintain patient care standards is also expected. The Clinical Hemodialysis Technician carries out designated skills that are within these functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel, as covered in the Core Curriculum for the Dialysis Technician and as written into the policies and procedures of Mayo Clinic.
Qualifications

Completion of courses in basic sciences OR Certified nursing assistant training course required OR 1 year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting or other health care setting OR RN student with 1 semester of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a Dialysis Technician training program.

Performs set up and all position welding on a diversified line of standard and non-standard product according to print specifications. Materials may include steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Fit and position product weldments having several parts , using welding and welding fixtures and jigs where applicable.
Work from prints and routings.
Statistical process control (SPC) data collection and use of graphs (TIG welding).
Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
Uses all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

This is a 2nd shift (evening) position which includes a $2.00 per hour Lead differential, plus a $0.75/hour shift differential in addition to the base pay rate
Tasks and Responsibilities
Identifies and attempts to resolve problems, escalating as appropriate
Documents and ensures effective training for all relevant personnel
Develops, tracks, and implements ideas to continuously improve safety, quality, cost and delivery
Leads and inspires others to apply a disciplined root cause analysis approach to all problems
Monitors, informs, and assists supervisor in making adjustments to production or work assignments based on customer demand or other constraints
Assists with changeovers and helps with setups as required to maintain product flow
Monitors and updates production boards
Provides supervisor with feedback regarding employee performance on a consistent basis
Performs operations as necessary to cover breaks, absences and meet deadlines
Ensures accurate documentation is being used and completed in a timely manner
Ensures all safety protocols are strictly followed
Education and Experience
Required:
High school diploma, or equivalent
2 year experience in a production environment
Desired:
Experience with clean room manufacturing
3+ years experience in a production environment
