Education and Experience Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field. Knowledge of A/E/C industry software preferred. Familiarity with general construction and design preferred. Exposure to PM/CM techniques of scheduling and budgeting preferred. Licenses and Certifications A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions is required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions due to work activities occurring both inside and outside. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the position is moderately active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The position also may also be sitting for long periods of time. Travel Requirements These positions are project site based in a Construction Trailer. Some positions are office based. Loads and secures equipment (spreader bars, mats, counterweights, etc.) then drives truck to location. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Obeys all safety and environmental policies while performing work on the job site. Be willing to travel to various locations away from home, as this is a full-time traveling position. Responsibilities: Assists the crane operator in the proper set-up of the equipment. Assists the crane operator in the maintenance of the crane and accessory equipment. (i.e., pickup trucks, haul trucks, trailers, etc.) Understands and can perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load. Utilizes proper hand signals during all operations of the crane. Properly secures equipment to the trailer before operating truck. Inspects truck and trailer and fills out truck inspection report before operating the vehicle. Turns in inspection report to the proper supervisor. Reports mechanical defects in writing on the truck and/or trailers to the shop technician or a supervisor. Monitors inventory of the chains, boomer, and straps assigned to the truck and reports to supervisor of missing equipment. Inspects, cleans, and performs maintenance on chains, boomer, and straps. Documents and turns in all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment to the proper supervisor. Cleans the outside and cab area of your assigned vehicle daily. Monitors the annual State inspection and State license plates and reports to the supervisor one month in advance before the expiration date. Reports to Dispatcher immediately on completion of assigned job task for next assignment. At the end of the shift reviews next day(s) job assignment and have all necessary rigging and equipment ready before ending the shift. Completes payroll timesheet with the hours worked. Hours must be reported to the branch office by 10:00 PM Sunday Night. Carries and answers phone in a prompt manner. Periodically reviews assigned crane and other model cranes service and operation manuals. Cleans, inspects, and reorganizes equipment in shop and yard. Cleans shop, washes rack and break room. Job Functions: * Follow welding procedure specifications when welding * Train and assist with performing quality welds able to pass radiographic examination * Train and assist with performing quality welds using various welding process, such as TIG, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, etc. * Train and assist with producing quality welds with efficiency * Train to perform or assist with fit‐up and preparation of welds * Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair * Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns on the job site * Train to determine the required tools, materials and welding methods based on the project specifications * Assist with the assembly, installation, and repair of pipe components and systems according to specifications * Inspect all materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the work * Maintain supplies, equipment, and tools * Properly prepare materials by clamping, cutting, or applying chemical solutions to piping * Observe all safety regulations WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * High School diploma or GED * Formal vocational/technical training in GTAW- Gas tungsten arc welding and basic welding processes/procedures * Must be graduating in 2026 from vocational training (May/June graduates preferred) * Must be able to pass a multi-position weld test utilizing the SMAW process * Must be able to pass 2 and 3G plate welding tests * Must be able to perform stick welds on both carbon and stainless-steel plate and pipe * Must be able to utilize large weld rods (3/16" minimum) in multi-positions in an effective and efficient manner * Ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructions * Must have a general knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards * Must be able to troubleshoot and have a strong attention to detail * Must have physical dexterity * Must be able to follow verbal directions * Must be able to read and write in English * Must be willing to travel for long durations * Must be able to pass a background check required to access US military installations * Must have a valid driver's license Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans
