JOB MISSION:
As a Machine Mechanic you will perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment while adhering to departmental standards and machine maintenance schedules.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Perform routine maintenance on machines.Utilize a broad range of hand power tools to perform various duties.Detect and repair improper operation of equipment.Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.Work closely with the Mechanic team in an effort to cross train and support technicians on all manufacturing machinery and equipment.Utilize a working knowledge of machinery, equipment and processes to repair and make improvements.Learn about inventory and gain knowledge of maintaining inventory parts.Support and help lead projects and TPM/Lean Initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
Minimum of two years of shop training or machine operator experience.Two to five years of broad related work experience utilizing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic technologies.Ability to lead activities for their individual projects.Must be fully cross-trained on all manufacturing machinery and equipment. Willingness to learn other jobs.Basic Computer knowledge is essential.Moderate to heavy lifting is required. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  1. Follow all Plant and Safety Rules, G ood M anufacturing P ractices ( GMP ), and wear P ersonal P rotective E quipment ( PPE ) at all times.
  2. Follow Lock/Tag/Try process when working on the machine.
  3. Maintain, rebuild, and repair all sewing heads; cutters, feeders, tables, etc.
  4. Do all repair work possible in department, and record parts used and time to complete.
  5. Keep spare parts inventory current.
  6. Keep sewing machines running at maximum speed, while maintaining quality.
  7. Assist Sewing Machine Operator as needed.
  8. Keep all daily, weekly, and monthly reports updated and neat.
  9. Assist in training.
  10. Learn and use the Factory Tracking System.
  11. Responsible for the quality of bags produced.
