The Production Operator is responsible for performing several manufacturing functions and supporting plant operations in the production area. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities: (Include the following; however, other duties may apply.) Reviews and completes required paperwork for Production operations. Performs typical production functions to include operating equipment, moving material, verifying dimensions, and required quality inspections. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Supervisor/Manager. Performs operator level Preventative Maintenance, Checks and Services on machines as required. May operate a forklift if certified to do so. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides support to the engineering teams in the plating, wet etch, and stripping process areas Supports the plating, wet etch, and stripping processes by preparing, maintaining, and setting up recipes to ensure an efficient and consistent process Reviews and documents processes and procedures; partners with engineering to implement changes effectively Expedites and dispositions prototype wafers in the plating, wet etch and stripping areas Assists engineers to run plating process development experiments, collects and analyzes data, and recommends corrective action if required Reviews and maintains process controls using SPC and prepares charts and graphs Assists with routine trouble-shooting and resolves basic process-related issues Participates in and recommends modifications to procedures or processes in support of continuous improvement initiatives Collaborates with Engineering to qualify or approve new processes or procedures Creates reports, charts, or graphs on an ad-hoc or routine basis Prepares daily pass down report for engineers, next shift plating process technicians, and manufacturing plating technicians Responds to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required Performs other duties of a similar nature or level* MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Electronics or Industrial Technology and/or equivalent relevant experience Two years of experience working in the semiconductor industry Knowledge of plating, wet processes and procedures Hands on experience using metrology tools such as pH meter, Tencor Thickness Profiler, XRF, and B-H loop tools Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of semiconductor or hard disk drive (HDD) principles and processes Knowledge and ability to use SPC to maintain process controls Knowledge of plating, wet processes and procedures Ability to collect and analyze data, present findings, and recommend corrective action Ability to adhere to all safety policies and procedures Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management Demonstrated ability to follow routine verbal or written instructions Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills Skilled at resolving issues quickly and efficiently Flexible and able to prioritize The hourly rate for this full-time position is between $25.00-$40.00 + bonus target + benefits. Vast is looking for a Supervisor of Avionics Manufacturing, reporting to Sr. Manager of Avionics and Testing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. Shift hours: First shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM Second shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM Responsibilities: Organize, coordinate, prioritize, and communicate day-to-day development and manufacturing work assignments for a technician team. Lead and demonstrate work and safety culture. Train and onboard new team members. Support team members in daily tasks. Assist with optimizing the manufacturing process for avionics systems, considering factors such as efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Participate in design reviews, providing valuable insights to improve the manufacturability and reliability of avionics components. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes for avionics manufacturing. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality. Meet tight production schedules to achieve high production rates while maintaining quality standards and be able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast moving environment. Maintain laboratory and workshop, including cleanliness, stocking of consumables, tool control, and supporting design and build infrastructure to support above activities. Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions in support of above activities. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a technical field, with a strong preference for candidates possessing a background in the aerospace industry. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, demonstrating proven expertise in guiding and managing teams. Professional experience in a manufacturing environment working within a quality system such as AS9100, ISO9001, etc. High School Diploma or equivalency certificate. Preferred Skills & Experience: Strong understanding of avionics systems, electronics manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques. Experience in CAD software (such as Siemens NX) for reviewing designs. Experience in creating manufacturing documentation (such as Standard Operating Procedures and Work Orders.) Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to avionics manufacturing, such as IPC standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross- functional teams. Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting avionics systems is desirable. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
