Position Summary Learns to operate CNC Machines with assistance from the supervisor and co-workers. upon reaching the required skill level and experience, may be asked to monitor/operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, and CNC mill turns with the guidance of the supervisor or co-workers. Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform simple shop math calculations, and correctly use analog and digital measuring instruments. Must have working knowledge of micrometers, calipers as well as threads and plug gages. Essential Responsibilities Operating impregnation machine and deburring (potentially drilling and punch press) Work under the direction of the shop supervisor and/or lead-person to perform daily tasks that may include but not limited to: Checking all CNC machines to ensure proper raw material is loaded in bar feeds based on needs specified on individual setup sheets. Check and fill necessary all CNC machines to ensure coolant tanks are full and at correct viscosity levels using a refractometer Bench drilling small diameter and inspecting work to ensure compliance Operating tumbler wash, debur frill press and other simple equipment Actively participates in safety continuous improvement and processes needed to ensure production in maintained Monitoring gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly Other duties as assigned Position Requirements Minimum 1-3 years CNC machine shop experience as a machinist operating CNC machines High School diploma or GED or trade school certifications Knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer services. This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
