What Kind of Drug Test Does Kohl’s Use?

Kohl’s is known to use both urine samples and mouth swabs. Which drug test you will be expected to submit to will vary by location and reason for testing.

A urine drug test, or urine drug screen (UDS), will be completed offsite by a medical professional. You will be given paperwork and asked to visit a specific facility, usually located nearby the store location.

Once there, you will receive a specimen cup, leave your belongings in another room, and take the test in a bathroom.

Urine tests will analyze the urine sample for the presence of certain illicit substances as specified by the company. Generally, they are looking for illegal drugs or certain prescription medications such as:

• Marijuana

A mouth swab drug test also referred to as a saliva drug test or oral fluids drug test, is more immediate. They are easier to administer than urine drug tests and do not require you to leave the store location to submit.

These types of drug tests are also more difficult to tamper with as the person administering the test is within full view at all times.

With the mouth swab option, the test involves a swab of the inside of your cheek. Results can be ready within minutes.

Drugs are detectable in oral fluids for a shorter period than in urine. So, this test is used more often to determine recent use. Due to this restraint, this type of 0 is most common when there is suspicion of drug use or immediately following a work accident.

A mouth swab drug test will analyze the sample for the same substances. Both can also detect alcohol if necessary.

Will Kohl’s Test for Marijuana Use?

With the increase in the legalization of cannabis, the question of whether or not they will be testing for marijuana use is common. Generally speaking, if the state you are in has legalized marijuana use, then this will not count against you during drug testing.
