The Import/Export Customs Compliance Administrator is responsible for the classification, clearance, and overall recordkeeping of KAC Peoria (PMO & PPD) Import/Export Operations as well as coordinating and maintaining all master files, electronic files and regulatory files relative to the import/export products in order to sustain an 'Informed Compliance' recordkeeping system (advising intra-company departments when affected). This position is also required to maintain knowledge of new and current Customs laws and regulations to support such compliance, as well as distribution of all compliance/shipping documents to freight forwarders and U.S. Customshouse Brokers.
The Import/Export Customs Compliance Administrator's responsibilities include import documentation for PMO & PPD's purchased parts and PPD's Return Claim Shipments from around the world. The position also oversees and maintains the auditable data required by Customs for all imported parts purchased by PMO/PPD. This position corresponds with foreign suppliers, internal Purchasing and Freight Forwarders to obtain and provide documents and information necessary for Customs clearance. The processing of all accounts payable billings for freight (inland, air and ocean), duty and handling charges is another primary responsibility of this position.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Compliance Recordkeeping of imported documents.
* Receive, review for accuracy, compile and distribute documents to stakeholders in a timely manner.
* Maintain the annual USMCA Certificate of Origin from all PMO & PPD suppliers in accordance with the NAFTA agreement and its subsequent requirements.
* Maintain and provide Certificate of Origin for PMO & PPD outbound shipments in accordance with current Free Trade Agreements.
* Review, approve and process broker, inland and ocean freight billings for payment.
* Maintain and analyze cost reports for inland, ocean and direct shipments to KAC distributors.
* Work as liaison with all global vendors to provide proof of EPA compliance in order to confirm to USA / CAN requirements.
* Prepare responses and maintain files in regard to all Manufacturer's Affidavits, Certificates of Origin, Assists, Anti-Dumping, Re-Packaging, and all Customs CF28 and CF29 requests.
Qualifications/Requirements
* 5 years minimum experience in import and/or export field.
* Must be very detail oriented with good organizational skills. Attention to accuracy is critical.
* Ability to communicate effectively, orally and through written correspondence, and also possess good work ethics.
* Have the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively, and prioritize the various duties and responsibilities required of the position.
* Working knowledge of CFR, HTS, and Incoterms.
* Ability to use ERP System and working knowledge of Word and Excel.
* Periodically travel to specialized Customs seminars to obtain knowledge and to comply with new Customs regulations.
* Broker's License and/or Experience within the mining or construction equipment industry is a plus.

* Will perform various mechanical and electrical assembly functions including, but not limited to, assembly of hydraulic equipment, installation and adjustment of mechanical components, mechanically finalize and test equipment prior to shipment
* Works from engineering prints, routings, and procedures with minimum supervision

* Experience and expertise reading and utilizing blueprints to assemble and/or troubleshoot
* Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
* Computer literacy and experience using computer systems to document or retrieve information
* Demonstrated ability to work safely in an industrial environment
* Will be required to complete a physical commensurate with DOL Medium duty work requirements which includes drug testing.

+ Provide technical assistance and support to company engineers and equipment end users in the quick and efficient startup of newly installed wastewater equipment, training of site personnel in the operation and maintenance and repair of the equipment.
+ Work in industrial, municipal water, and wastewater facilities that may be under construction or already existing and may be required to travel internationally as well as domestically, with some extended stays. Work may exceed eight hours per day.
+ Be responsible for the commissioning of both single water treatment devices as well as entire industrial systems.
+ Maintain standard internal documents and reports, scripting details & updating tasks including managing and separating work done, and work to be done to maintain typical project schedules.
+ Use Microsoft Office suite daily and internal programs such as on-line travel assistants and electronic expense reporting programs (SAP, Concur ideal).
+ Develop a positive and professional working relationship with specialty and union site craft, learn and follow site rules and safety regulations, and use good judgment on behalf of Xylem.

THE ROLE:

Join Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big! Analyze mechanical components, structures, and systems in concept, design, or hardware stages to insure adequate performance for the intended function. Recommend and evaluate design modifications to solve product reliability issues, improve performance, and add value. Participate in the development of advanced analytical methods and techniques utilizing state-of-the-art technology
Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services per market demands, and for continual process improvements. Perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, fundamental calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomes. Provide conceptual and strategic solutions to solve problems associated with engineering projects or evaluations.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Perform analysis on new and existing designs, which: 1) reduces number of prototypes; 2) improves product quality; and 3) reduces warranty expenses for mining equipment, sales of which typically exceed $300M per year.
* Plan and execute as many as 10 analysis projects per year and complete up to 8 comprehensive technical data reports.
* Provide advice, guidance, and support in area of design analysis for approximately 80 design and test engineers.
* Participate in effective Change Management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes by successfully changing individual behaviors as needed.
* Participate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices.
* Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and/or services.
* Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of one's self and the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, required.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering analysis, design, machine application, mining industry, desired.
* Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and /or (CAE) tools, desired.
* Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired.
* Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired.
* Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), required.
* Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $85,000 - $100,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
