Job Description
JOB POSITION SUMMARY
The Warranty Inspector will mechanically and electrically inspect chain hoists, wire rope hoists, and crane components returned under warranty or at customer request, giving feedback on root cause and/or repair potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect and/or troubleshoot components returned under warranty or per customer request.
Clearly define and communicate defects found, both verbally and in writing.
Provide input for repair potential to allow return to the customer or return to stock.
Collaborate with other departments to address root causes toward future prevention.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Ability to effectively manage time, resolve problems, and make sound decisions.
Ability to address multiple issues simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to read and understand drawings and technical guides.
Well-developed computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Working understanding of three phase electrics and inverters.
Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
Must have a minimum of 2 years related experience in a fast-paced environment, with crane industry experience preferred.
Maintain arc flash certification.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

Under the supervision of the E&A supervisor or group leader, the technician will perform all functions under this job description. This includes all necessary functions to maintain a clean and safe shop. Complies with all Company and Safety Policies and procedures in the performance of assigned duties.
Welds all vessels (including large ASME) and structural components utilizing SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes. Performs these procedures to meet CCC certified procedures. (These may include ASME, API, AWS, and ANSI code certification.) Materials may include carbon steel, stainless steel and various other nickel-based alloys.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
Able to pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds, on both pipe and vessels
Works from drawings/sketches to determine weld size, weld location and weld process
Inspects own work to ensure compliance to drawings and weld procedures and makes necessary repairs
Assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection and complete appropriate documentation
Operate Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane
Complete ASME code weld log documentation daily
Comply with company policies
Material handling/movement
Welding
Assist in other areas of the plan as assigned
Specific qualifications for this technology welding role include:
A High School diploma or Trade School certification is required
Capability to obtain ASME section 9 in GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW certification while Employed
