Assists medical staff in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within its legal boundaries.
Responsibilities:
* Works in manner that is compatible with Kootenai Health's culture and service orientation
* Patrols hospital buildings and grounds, provides escorts for employees and visitors
* Responds to emergency calls and assists in restraining aggressive patients, as needed
* Completes weapons secure and releases in accordance with practice
* Exercises independent judgment while carrying out overall responsibilities
* Public Relations are a key factor of this position
* Assists Law Enforcement on campus
* Dispatching functions to include dispatching officers throughout multiple locations
* Monitors multiple systems including camera systems, fire systems, infant abduction alarms, panic alarms, building alarms, and outgoing emergency calls
* As needed, conducts searches of clients, patients, and belongings, to include confiscation of drugs and drug paraphernalia
* Aids with jump starts and lockouts
* Addresses parking problems and issues citations
* Communicates with patients, visitors, providers and staff via telephone, radio, and in person
* Enforces Kootenai Health no-smoking policy
* This position works under limited supervision
* Work situations are a variety of routine and non-routine situations and functions requiring a service-oriented individual with good judgment and confidentiality
* Identifies and distinguishes individuals through camera system and in person
* Detects and responds to alarms/calls through overhead call and radio systems

Kootenai Health (KH) security personnel are responsible for ensuring a safe environment for KH patients, visitors, and staff. The Security Dispatcher is responsible for running the Security Operations Center (SOC), including but not limited to multi-line phone management, fire alarm monitoring, mass notification messaging, infant abduction system, and identification badging systems. Works directly with KH staff, visitors, external agencies, and vendors daily. Assists in investigations and retrieves camera footage and door reports for various agencies and departments, both internal and external. Reports to senior security leadership.
Responsibilities
* Receives, evaluates, and prioritizes requests for security support
* Dispatches, monitors, and closes out security service calls that come into the SOC
* Utilizes two-way radio communication and radio dispatch software
* Communicates with patients, visitors, providers, and staff in person and by phone
* Works with various security systems to include CCTV
* Works with Microsoft Office products to create/maintain data and reports
* Utilizes mass notification systems and overhead paging apparatuses
* Utilizes multiple alarm monitoring systems to include infant abduction alarms
* Creates KH ID badges and troubleshoots systems associated with badge creation and management, to include badges for employees, visitors, students and vendors
* Ensures all security systems and devices are functioning properly through testing and preventative maintenance while maintaining appropriate records and documentation
* May serve as a liaison between security and law enforcement with regard to surveillance investigations and documentation for court
* Assists in investigations as needed per the Security Manager and Human Resources
* Maintains vehicle registration information for employees and providers
* Assists the Security Manager, as well as other department leaders with related security support
* Regularly works with securityOffice Coordinator and assists with badging duties
* Troubleshoots access control issues regarding doors and badges
* Participates in meetings regarding badging and other security issues as requested
* Familiar with standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the hospital security field

As a Medical Device and IoMT Security Specialist, this role reports to the Manager of Endpoint Security. This role develops, engineers, and maintains the Medical Device/IoMT Security Program for the Cybersecurity Risk Management Department. This role is expected to have expert level knowledge of medical device and IoMT security technologies. The specialist will be responsible for identifying and remediating security gaps, the continued improvement of existing controls, mentoring and collaborating with other Cyber Security, Clinical Engineering, and Information Technology team members to secure the many information technology assets and data of Community Health Systems. The specialist will collaborate with architects to design and implement solutions that better protect CHS Medical Devices and data.
Essential Functions
Design, engineer, manage, review, and recommend improvements for new and existing Medical Device, and IoMT security solutions, configurations and technologies. Develop and maintain security standards based on National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recommendations, specifically NIST 800-53.
Identify Medical Device and IoMT vulnerabilities and make recommendations for key Cyber Security stakeholders
Develop and improve policies, standards, and processes for the identification and prioritization of threat remediation as well as processes and methodologies for metrics and KPIs related to medical device/IoMT protections, security and compliance.
Provide technical guidance to enterprise Cyber Security and Information Technology teams regarding the impact of medical device security controls in order to drive issues to remediation and develop systemically secure configurations.
Assist in developing and documenting an overall medical device and IoMT protection strategy including defining control standards, asset management standards, and enhancement opportunities.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by cybersecurity leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems (or other related field), or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of IT or information security, and
3+ years of Medical Device/IoMT security
Experience with design and delivery of Medical Device and IoMT security solution strategies based on knowledge of the industry, as well asn Medical device IoMT leading security practices.
Experience in design and deployment of network security solutions and controls in industrial networks, including network zoning, segmentation and isolation designs and implementation.
Advanced knowledge of security principles, issues, techniques and implementations across medical device and IoMT security platforms.
Proactive identification and solving of complex problems
Strong understanding of medical device and IOMT system development to provide technical leadership for multifunctional projects and initiatives.
Strong ability to work on and prioritize multiple, concurrent projects while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to participate in cross-functional training and support

We are seeking a SecurityOfficer 2 to join our team.
This is a part-time, 0.5 FTE (minimum 20 hours/week) position on an EVENING
Shifts may be either:
Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. (1500-0100) OR
Friday and Saturday, 3:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. (1500-0100)
Shift differentials apply for hours that qualify for weekends and nights.
What You Can Expect
Under limited/moderate supervision, the SecurityOfficer 2 is responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.
Makes periodic tours of premises and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are properly secured. Guards property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing and illegal entry. Controls access to health system facilities.
May apply de-escalation tactics in working with high-risk patients or visitors to limit harm to themselves or others. Retains physically assaultive patients as ordered by clinical staff within established parameters.
Responds to alarms including but not limited to baby alarms, elopements, hospital designated codes, fire drills, external and internal disasters lockdown procedures.
Investigates incidents, collects data, and reports security, safety, and fire hazards. Assists in maintaining daily incident log.
Investigates disturbances/security breaches, may serve as liaison with police, and in the event of an emergency, maintains order and safety of personnel.
Writes detailed and complex reports of incident.
Collect and properly secure weapons and illicit drugs according to policies and standards.
Collaborates with the care team for the Designated Examiner evaluations with patients on involuntary hold to ensure the safety of all personnel.
May screen visitors and issue visitor passes when appropriate.
May monitor patient, visitor, and employee parking in garages, lots, and zones, enforce parking regulations and issue parking citations when appropriate.
Compiles reports to leadership with statistical data related to number of tickets issued, location, number of vehicles towed, and trends.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 2 years relevant experience
Licenses/Certifications: Drivers license fleet vehicle
This role is subject to St. Luke's driving policy, which requires individuals in this role to not have a record of certain driving-related offenses within the past three (3) years, including but not limited to: Suspension of License, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless or Negligent Driving...
If hired, St. Luke's will conduct a driving records check upon hire and continuously thereafter for individuals hired into this role. Individuals will be required to maintain a valid, current driver's license.
