Kraemer Brothers company history timeline

1948

Since three Kraemer brothers founded the company in 1948, our culture has always been rooted in our small town values, work ethic, work/life balance, continuous improvement, and excellence.

1980

It includes the 1980 “The Cramer Family Tree,” which is a narrative about all the Cramer families from the first pioneers to that date.

1982

Hildegarde Thering, A History of Plain, Wisconsin (Plain, Wisconsin: privately published, 1982). 230 pages.

1992

Once complete, Black Hawk Elementary (renovated by Kraemer Brothers in 1992) will close and move its students to Tower Rock, making it a 4K through fifth-grade school.

1994

Sauk County Historical Society, Baraboo, WI, Good Old Golden Rule Days, A History of Sauk County Wisconsin Country Schools (1994). Out of print; available on CD.

1996

Lorry Erickson, St Anne's Hill: The Plain Shrine, A History of St Anne's Hill, Plain, Wis. (December 1996). SeS Publishing, Wilson, Wisconsin.

After the Edward Kraemer and Sons company passed to the third generation, the operations were split into two companies in 1996, with EKS focused on bridges and large industrial projects, and The Kraemer Company focused on the aggregate (rock crushing) and road building business.

2001

Plain History Genealogy Group, founded in 2001 by Gary Haas.

2007

2013

Construction of the two-story, 58,000-square-foot companion building began in November 2013 and was completed last month.

2014

Those who helped to write this history of Plain web page in 2014: Bill Schuette, Debbie Blau, Ken Kraemer.

2015

The project will be complete in May 2015.

2016

The summer projects start in June and will be finished by the end of August, completing the overall project in time for the 2016-17 school year, just as the school district had planned when selecting Kraemer Brothers.

Construction begins this month and will be complete in December 2016.

2017

Initial site work begins this month, and in late May foundations will start, with completion in January 2017.

Our first hotel project with a new client is on schedule to open just in time for the heart of the 2017 tourist season in the Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton area.

2020

Winning projects include the Promega Kepler Center, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Renovation, the Sauk Prairie Medical Clinics & Office Building, Kalahari Resort and Conventions - Poconos Mountains - Phase I, and the Sauk Prairie Schools 2020 Building Program.
