    Job Summary/Purpose: Repairs, installs, and maintains all plant machinery and equipment to eliminate downtime and achieve maximum production efficiencies by performing the following duties. Relocate existing lights, plumbing, or electrical lines as needed. Training and Safety - Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company's Heinz Safety Process. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations. Must be able to work flexible hours; days, afternoons, midnights, overtime and weekends as necessary. As necessary, other duties and/or projects may be assigned. Education and Experience Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Ability to use a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection of equipment. Knowledge of AC/DC variable frequency drives, motor control, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics and blueprints. Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and refrigeration. May be asked to develop and complete welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assemblies; (Stainless and Aluminum); (TIG and ARC); and maintains USDA required welding techniques; Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality. Makes preventative maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, Reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Assures MRO orders accurately and timely. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make the repair parts. Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment. Assists with developing department employee relations by continued communication of all information affecting them and through the conduct of monthly departmental safety meetings. This is further enhanced by employee and personal participation in the Plant Safety and Ergonomics committees. Analyzes production downtime reports, determines opportunities, and initiates action plan to increase efficiencies. Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions. Oversee and lead the implementation of the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list in order to achieve targeted RCR. Assist and partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean/Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS)) including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation. Assist with the supervision of Maintenance staff including but not limited to performance management and employee development, etc. Communicate with outside agencies i.e. contractors, equipment suppliers, technical consultants and vendors.
