The Microelectronics Designs and Applications (MDA) business area of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a motivated **Integrated Circuit (IC) Design CAD Support Engineer** to join our team by supporting the EDA/CAD tools required to design and layout analog and digital circuits. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a variety of analog and digital design flows including Cadence design tools, Innovus, scripting languages (PERL, Python, TCL, etc), and Linux/unix.
This role is 100% onsite in Linthicum or Annapolis Junction, MD.
**Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):**
+ Close interaction and collaboration with the analog and digital design engineers
+ Provide CAD tool support and methodology training to design team
+ Enable and improve design and verification flows
+ Support tapeout milestones and IP macro releases
+ Champion and implement best practices and task automation
+ Writing scripts to support CAD capabilities
**Basic qualifications for Principal Integrated Circuit (IC) Design CAD Support Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical area (BSEE or other Engineering discipline preferred) with 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a MS, 0 years with a PhD)
+ Solid knowledge of the Cadence design tools, particularly the Virtuoso Schematic, Layout, and ADE (Spectre preferred) environment
+ Experience generating and developing scripts to provide capabilities within a CAD environment (SKILL, Ocean, Python, PERL, Linux/unix shell, etc.)
+ US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Experience interfacing with engineers and managers, in addition to vendor application engineers
+ Solid interpersonal and team skills for cross-functional collaboration, high attention to detail, ability to self-check work outputs and ability to lead technical tasks
+ Hands-on experience with industry standard tools including (but not limited to):
+ Calibre physical verification tools (DRC, LVS, PERC, etc.)
+ Layout parasitic extraction tools (Cadence Quantus, etc.)
+ Experience with revision control software (Keysight [formerly Cliosoft] SOS)
+ Experience with Cadence Innovus a plus
+ Strong analysis, design and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
