In order to build vibrant academic environment and to bring positive socio-economic changes in this geographical area, the college was started at K. Narayanapura, Kothanur region in 1999.
Kristu Jayanti College, founded in 1999, is managed by the members of St Joseph Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous religious congregation in India.
The college had a humble beginning with 1 course, 9 students and 3 full-time academic faculty in 1999, has grown exponentially in programmes (41 programmes including Four PhD programme), in a number of students (8000) and in full-time faculty strength (265), all in a matter of 21 years.
The Centre for Social Activities (CSA) was established in 2009 as a students’ social movement.
The college had a humble beginning in the year 2017 with 3 courses and 73 students and has been growing constantly ever since.
