Shift: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM EquipmentOperators are responsible for assisting Parts shipping, receiving and put-away activities in Kubota warehouses through use of stock chasers, forklifts, reach trucks and order pickers. The EquipmentOperator is responsible for operation of such equipment 80% of their working time.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures, and guidelines:
Obtains copy of shipping orders/put away orders and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas within the facility.
Moves goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.
Loads and unloads various carriers of Kubota parts and equipment.
Stacks goods in correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
Checks to ensure that trucks are properly loaded and materials and equipment are secure.
Stacks empty pallets.
Performs daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment.
Removes machine attachments and waste material from machines.
Examines products to verify conformance to quality standards.
May assist with warehouse maintenance activities including waste materials into appropriate bins for disposal.
Other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Willingness to work any shifts (days or nights, weekends).
Certified to operate a forklift, reach truck, order picker as required according to OSHA standards.
Good language and reading skills; basic computer skills required.
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
Follow instructions for operating assigned equipment and keeping required records.
Ability to execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.

Heavy equipmentoperators use machinery to move and mix product and other heavy materials at a work site. They control equipment by moving levers or foot pedals, operating switches, or turning dials, as well as some computerized controls in some more modern equipment.
Operators may also set up and inspect equipment, make minor adjustments, and perform minor repairs.
*For this position, a payloader will be used to load production equipment and bulk containers, so experience operating a payloader is required.*
This operator will also perform minor maintenance and assist in other areas of production from time to time.
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety, team safety, and environmental awareness at all times. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. Qualified candidates will be able to pass a criminal background check, substance abuse test. SMS Mill Services, LLC is a leader in the steel mill services industry prioritizing recycling and environmental/workers' safety and handling all operations with integrity. SMS is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused heavy equipmentoperator for its Mingo Junction, OH location.
· EquipmentOperator will learn the role and complete work at the direction of a more senior EquipmentOperator or Supervisor.
· EquipmentOperator will learn how to operate various pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner while moving scrap material around the scrap yard for processing.
· EquipmentOperator will ensure that all his/her efforts are compliant with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
· EquipmentOperator will learn one or more of the following: loaders, drop-ball cranes, material handlers, excavators, pot carriers.
· Safety and coordination with other work onsite is imperative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights including but not limited to loaders, drop-ball cranes, material handlers, excavators, pot carriers.
· Keep the yard clean.
· Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as other equipment, workers, or moving objects
· Perform daily inspections, safety checks, preventive maintenance, and repairs of equipment; check required fluids and grease equipment. Report any equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor.
· Cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
· Potential to perform general labor duties which may/may not include sweeping, raking, shoveling/snow removal, general clean-up of work area and equipment, and physically handling materials and supplies.
· Other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
3 -5 years operating heavy equipment in an industrial setting.
· Basic literacy in English
· Strong communication and time management skills
· Work with a positive attitude
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Reliability to report to work on time·
· Understand and follow supervisors' directives (written and oral instructions)
· Flexibility to changing work conditions, assignments, and schedules
· Ability to work in all-weather elements including rain, snow, cold, and heat
· Comfortable working in an industrial environment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
MUST be able to pass drug screen, background check and physical
· Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends and weekdays based on volume needs
· Position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime
