Assists the CFT in crisis stabilization and transitional moves to and from higher levels of care. This is a great opportunity for a Crisis Specialist to join our dynamic department in Tempe or Glendale, AZ and provide crisis services. The job responsibilities will include but are not limited to responding to crisis calls, completing crisis interventions for ongoing clients, case management and coordination of care, as well as interfacing with first responders. Work Schedule: Four 10-hour work days per week (DAY, WEEKEND and EVENING shifts available). *Due to the nature of business in Crisis work, breaks/mealtimes are generally taken while on shift, in between calls. If an employee needs an extended break for personal reasons, this needs to be discussed with the department supervisor or On-Call Coordinator. Essential Responsibilities: Provide direct in-home, in-office, in-school and community based crisis services. These services will include but not be limited to crisis intervention and de-escalation, transportation, maintaining or establishing community stabilization, client support and/or supervision, parenting training, behavior management training and assistance, and provision and assistance in accessing appropriate community referrals. Ensure quality service delivery including clinical care and all associated documentation. Maintain all client records in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Provide comprehensive services to clients and assist in coordinating communication with other departments of the agency to accomplish continuity of care. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all related state, community behavioral health, and contracting organizations. Other Duties and Responsibilities: This position receives a differential in pay, which is specific to this position only. May be required to use "down time" for special projects to benefit Crisis and/or other departments within the agency. Receive supervision each month from a Master's level clinical coordinator. If department meetings or scheduled supervision is missed because of a crisis call, the specialist is required to reschedule the meeting to assure that all supervision requirements are met. Job Description The HCTC Foster Care Licensing Coach (FCLC) works closely with HCTC Foster Care Coordinator and the Foster Care teams to support Foster Parents of La Paloma Family Services (LPFS) HCTC Foster Care Program in providing mental health services to children. The FCLC will help provide supportive services to include, assisting foster parents, advocating within the child welfare and behavioral health systems, developing goals and plans, providing de-escalation support to foster parents and youth in crisis, reviewing all provider notes for accuracy, providing individual and group training. The HCTC FCLC will supervise the foster homes to ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and will coordinate with outside agencies, schools, and State agencies to meet these requirements. DUTIES Understanding and implementation of La Frontera Arizona's mission, values and code of ethics including cultural sensitivity in dealing with clients and fellow staff members. Establish and write thorough and informative home studies. Interpret and implement legal responsibilities. Responsible for direct and indirect assistance and supervision of families, adults, and children in foster care program, including the ability to teach de-escalation techniques, parenting skills and effective discipline techniques. Coach, advice, and train Resource Parents to provide mental health services to children with extensive behavioral needs. Create, implement, and update treatment plans based on the needs of the client and the desired outcomes identified by the Child and Family Team. Monitor and regulate compliance with State rules and La Paloma policy during home visits to family foster homes. Advocate and support foster families and clients during Child and Family Team meetings to ensure the best outcome for clients served in the program. Work with Complete Care Contractors to request and review documentation for referrals, to determine best match of member and foster family for successful placement. Conduct outreach and build relationships with Complete Care Contractors. Assist in coordination and implementation of quarterly foster parent training. Assist in coordination and implementation of retention events for foster parents. What you'll do: The Behavior Management Specialist focuses on providing direct support with a strong emphasis on behavior management to adolescents and families in their homes, schools and/or in the community. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a self-starter; can work well within a team and is able to work a flexible schedule. It will facilitate groups assisting adolescents to work toward independent living, as well as healthy activities in the community. Must have knowledge and experience in the area of behavior management and parent partnering/education; working in collaboration with teams serving families within the Child and Family Team process consistent with the Arizona Vision/12 principles. Must be able to adhere to deadlines, medical records compliance and performance requirements. Some evening hours required. What you'll provide: High School Diploma/GED is required. BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS is preferred. Experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred. Must have minimum of One year prior experience in an applicable or relevant setting pertinent to the position. Knowledge of Behavior Management Techniques. Ability to facilitate meetings and groups with community member, families and teens. Experience working with children in DCS care and knowledge of the RBHA children system preferred. Experience assisting teens with independent livings skills and transiting to adulthood preferred. Must be able to work with multiple systems and children and families in crisis. Teen Substance Abuse experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills is required. Must have excellent time management skills; be able to meet deadlines and timely documentation. Must be able to work with multiple systems and children and families in crisis. Must have Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one. Must have a valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years. Must have regular access to reliable transportation. Bi-lingual (Spanish) Diff per hour available. Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment. Additional Requirements and Responsibilities: Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender or sexual orientation. Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical professional practice and the policies and procedures of the agency. Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners. If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC's liability insurance carrier is required. At time of hire, a 3-year state driving record with no major infractions or excessive driving violations/tickets is required. Attend meetings, training, and agency activities and events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request. Maintain compliance with required training.
