POSITION SUMMARY:
The Early Intervention Administrative Assistant supports the System Point of Entry (SPOE) team by performing clerical and administrative task in a manner that reflects CHS's mission, vision, and values, and ensures continuous quality improvements and compliance with all Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) contract requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Creates a culture of communication by positively representing the First Steps Program, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and Center for Human Services. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, backgrounds and cultural differences of families, children, co-workers, and the public consistent with trauma informed practices.
* Supports the SPOE Team spreadsheets, preparing reports, updating forms, and other program documents, making suggestions for improvements and new strategies if necessary, handling information requests, transferring children's records as needed, and completing special assignments to include data entry, document preparation, intake activities, filing/uploading documents, and retention to ensure required timelines and deadlines are meet.
* Skilled in CHS and First Steps knowledge by having a general understanding of CHS and First Steps to respond to questions that come to the SPOE office and link families and community members to the appropriate support.
* Supports the SPOE office through handling all assigned administrative duties for SPOE and CHS while providing office coverage Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm during required contract days.
* Assists the SPOE with Process Improvement by supporting the region with reviewing and improving processes and creating new strategies if necessary.
* Responsible for promoting a positive Safety Culture is expected and necessary to make CHS a safe place in which to work. Safe work practices and policies for this position shall be reviewed and strictly followed and complete training as stated by CHS policy HRD-P-022.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Associates degree (AA or AAS) in related field plus one year of related work experience or combination of education and/or experience to equal three years.

Verifies surgical/procedure site with patient and according to surgical schedule and patient History and Physical.
Obtains and verifies operative/procedure consent.
Provides instructions according to patient need.
Completes nursing documentation.
Provides emergency care according to physician and administrative policy.
Assists with preoperative and postoperative patient calls.
Reviews charts for completeness and signatures of physicians.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility:
Current State RN license.
If BLS and ACLS are not current upon hire, successful completion of a course is required within 90 days of hire.
Two (2) years ' experience in PreOp preferred.
