Reporting to the Assistant Director of Health Promotion, the Wellness Coordinator is responsible for conducting one-on-one wellness coaching appointments and implementing needs-based wellness initiatives focused on primary prevention and risk reduction. This position works collaboratively with other units within the Student Health Center and campus partners to leverage wellness expertise and improve prevention efforts. The Coordinator should be committed to investing in a collaborative care model and advancing the divisional priorities of commitment to quality, communicating a sense of home, design with everyone in mind, and cultivating a relationship with Our Lady of the Lake Health.
Job Responsibilities:
Program Support - 55%
Coordinates student wellness education and outreach as well as development of engaging health promotion campaigns and educational materials in various media formats including web and social media content. Responsible for program operations, including planning, implementing, and evaluating research-based health education presentations and campus-wide health promotion programs incorporating the support and involvement of campus and community partners. Teaches in both curricular and co-curricular settings. Coordinates and assists with key departmental initiatives including state and federal mandate compliance, such as the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act and Title IX, opt-out HIV testing, online campus-wide educational requirement administration, graduate student supervision, and peer education coordination, as assigned.
Direct Student Support - 30%
Advise students individually, providing one-on-one wellness coaching based on students' needs, interests, developmental stage, and learning style, employing brief motivational interviewing and other evidence-based strategies to facilitate behavior change. Such coaching may include mandated one-to-one meetings and group education classes for students referred by Student Advocacy and Accountability and Residential Life.
Quality Control - 10%
Embraces and executes the marginal gains approach and seeks to improve level of all services, events, programs, and experiences in department for continuous improvement every academic year, including coordinating a variety of assessment activities including the administration of the National College Health Assessment and the Core Alcohol and Drug Survey; utilizes data to inform practice and shares broadly.
Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
Performs other duties as assigned. Represents the Student Health Center on campus and community committees and task groups, as assigned. This includes but is not limited to efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including engaging in in-service opportunities for the division, and other special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree
* Experience in delivering health education and one-to-one advising, mentoring, or coaching.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Health education/ health promotion, public health or other area related to defined responsibilities.
* Two years experience in pedagogy, health education, curriculum and behavioral change and/or student development theories; multimedia communications; research methodologies; health and wellness coaching; planning and implementing large scale health education programs; experience with college health setting and addressing needs of college student population; 2 years of full-time professional experience in a capacity related to the duties to be performed.
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
* Health and Wellness Coach Certification (e.g. ICF or NBHWC); Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH).
Additional Requirements/Expectations:

Process monthly expenditure reports and validate posted charges to ensure charges are correctly posted. Control of all expenditures must remain within budget limitations. Advise the Department Head of anticipated fiscal requirements. Provide financial and budgetary information for the development of the Departmental budgets. Performing purchasing activities consisting of receiving of requisitions, validation of grant number, grant activity date, grant balance and issuance of confirming purchase order numbers, input of scientific and office supplies into PeopleSoft Order Entry Module, verification and approval of purchase order, and the tracking of purchase order to the point of delivery to appropriate parties. Assist in the correction of errors and return orders as necessary. In the absence of the Business Manager, help in the development and preparation of bids and blanket orders to expedite delivery of routine items. Track and correct errors on purchase orders and invoices.
In addition to the above duties, the person will be expected to assist the Department Chairman and faculty in the academic missions of the Department with regard to the following important responsibilities:
* Assist in the recruitment of graduate students by helping to maintain files of applicants, assisting in the yearly mailing of recruitment posters, and periodic updating of the Department PH.D. Booklet.
* Collect from the students all Evaluation Forms of Courses and Faculty Lecturers and maintain these documents in a secure location.
* Assist the Faculty Coordinator of the fall and spring Seminar Series in the preparation of the seminar schedule, submission of the schedule for type-setting and printing, and distribution.
* Coordinate travel arrangements for Seminar Speakers, faculty candidates, and students
* Posting to departmental database of all financial transactions including requisitions, purchase orders, internal transactions, etc. for all departmental accounts including budget accounts, grants, and discretionary funds. Database will be maintained the purpose of recording and tracking all expenditures. Database must be maintained by chart string, account code, type of expenditure, and a range of other data used to manage the financial operations of the department. Maintenance of a hard copy filing system will also be a component of this function. Incumbent will be expected to perform these duties with little or no supervision.
* Scan all accounts for outstanding encumbered and pre-encumbered items. These will be reconciled and dispatched by notifying Receiving, Accounts Payable and Purchasing departments of actions to be taken.
* Input requisitions into People Soft purchasing module and track progress of orders in same; print hard copies of purchase orders as they become available, update database and file.
* Print and verify accounting reports from department's accounting database and institution's People Soft accounting system. Reconciliation and correct as necessary the reports generated by both systems.
