1. Productivity
Determines blood donor eligibility by performing related testing, evaluating donor/patient medical history, assisting physicians with special tests and procedures, recruiting blood donors, and completing appropriate records pertaining to donations in a manner that ensures donor confidentiality. Participates in mobile and in-house blood bank operations and maintains donor stations where designated on a regular rotation. Separates blood components, pools platelets, and thaws frozen plasma for transfusion. Visits patients who have received blood during surgery in order to inform them about the hospital blood donation program.
If applicable, performs noncomplex testing (i.e., sed rates) as well as directed testing (i.e., sweat testing) following SOPs.
Receives and organizes specimens. Independently prioritizes workload.
Investigates and takes responsibility for proper identification of each specimen. Processes specimens according to procedures (may involve centrifuging and aliquoting specimens). Sorts and tracks according to the appropriate performing laboratory, maintaining the integrity of the sample. If in Blood Bank, verifies label, boxes, ships and prepares documents for Recovered Plasma and filters Red Blood Cells to remove leukocytes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES:
* Adheres to all CORE, LLC policies and procedures.
* Adheres to departmental Quality Assurance procedures.
* Performs temperature checks
* Performs COVID nasal swab tests
* Process CDC questionnaires
* Obtains basic history, and medical information, and take vital signs
* Administers intramuscular injections under authorization and supervision of physician in accordance with State of Louisiana law and prevailing CORE, LLC agreements and protocols.
* Performs collection of vital signs, Performs visual acuity and color testing.
* Performs urine specimen collection following DOT regulations and/or chain of custody requirements.
* Performs safe venipuncture
* Performs urine dipstick testing.
* Performs 12 lead EKGs.
* Performs audiometric screening,
* Performs other duties as required
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* Current National Phlebotomy Certification (strongly preferred)
* Current CPR/BLS Certification (preferred)
* Pass DISA Background Check
* Pass DISA Drug and Alcohol Screening
* TWIC Card (preferred)
* Basic Orientation Plus from Alliance Safety Council (preferred)
* Class D/Chauffer's Drivers License (strongly preferred or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire)
* Must have available transportation with up to date insurance coverage
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with client and employees

5.0 Responsibilities
• Ensures all lab staff has adequate resources to perform all aspects of work required.
• Ensures all lab staff are adequately trained to safely perform all required job functions and that competency records are maintained.
• Ensures compliance with all corporate policy procedures in the laboratory.
• Assists Lab Manager regarding sales, profits, costs and expenses to meet/ exceed budgeted financial expectations for the laboratory.
• Provides employee motivation and champions the Quality system, including SQC, Calibrations, Quality Assurance, Training, and Round Robins.
• Communicates with lab staff and management to promote empowerment and accountability.
• Obtains and maintains an in-depth knowledge of local market requirements.
• Understands customer requirements and organizes lab procedures, schedules and staffing to provide for meeting/exceeding same.
• Fosters customer confidence in CCC laboratory work.
• Supports the ISO certificate(s) and manages corrective/preventive actions.
• Reviews local laboratory operations for all aspects of the continuous improvement process.
• Recommends measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and needs for new equipment. Conducts research to develop custom procedures as needed, working in conjunction with senior lab management.
• Maintains open communication with the Lab Manager.
• Represents CCC by appearance and conduct. Behaves ethically at all times; Ensures compliance in all areas
• Ensures laboratory practices meet or exceed company policy and industry standards.
• Establishes or adjusts work schedules to meet testing requirements and control costs.
• Assists with maintaining time, training, calibration, QC and testing records.
• Other duties as may be assigned by Lab Management, and/or senior management.
6.0 Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands
Workday may consist of 8-12 hours however this can vary day to day and shift to shift. Some of the retain work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for a prolonged duration of time. Laboratory work is normally performed indoors under climate-controlled conditions.
