    Part Time Shift: Sunday 8am-3pm, Monday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 10am-2pm, Saturday 8am-3pm Pay Range: $19.00-$22.00 Based on experience DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES o Under the DIRECT and CONSTANT SUPERVISION of the Lead/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) assist in the performance of the analytical automated laboratory testing. o Follows procedures for handling potentially infectious materials. o Follows strict procedures of asepsis and antisepsis in the performance of duties. o Prepare bar coded specimens for the Chemistry, Hematology and Urine Analyzers. o Assist the CLS in the operation of the analyzer(s) assigned. o Centrifuge and label urine samples and blood samples. o Logging specimens received in the laboratory by checking the type of specimen(s) received versus the test(s) ordered. o Stores or discards specimens for future reference as appropriate. o Set up primary Bacteriological cultures. o Assist the CLS in the set up of the I.D. and susceptibility panel for the automated Vitek 2 instrument. o Prepare blood slides for staining in the Aames automated stainer. o Prepare gram stain slides. o Perform basic preventive maintenance on instruments according to the manufacturers specification. o Assist the CLS in troubleshooting instruments. o Assist the CLS in calling verified results to client (routine and stat) o Locate missing specimens. o Follow up on “Results to Follow” (RTF) and clerical problems associated with the reports and requests. o Monitor the turnaround time of results (TAT) for compliance in accordance with the lab policies. o Orders, receives, stores and distributes supplies to keep work areas stocked and cleaned. o Answers, handles, screen and transfers telephone calls when necessary o Other duties as assigned #MBX
