Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose The Supervisor of Noninvasive Cardiovascular Services is accountable for the daily leadership and operations of departmental personnel, inventory, productivity, quality, and stewardship. The supervisor is also responsible for maintaining and promoting a positive and forward-thinking culture within the department. Abides by all rules, regulations and values set forth by CMS, Joint Commission, and all applicable accrediting organizations
Provides daily leadership and direction for the noninvasive cardiovascular team while supporting and achieving the mission and values of the department, campus, and CHI Health Heart Institute
* Leads the effective delivery of competent and efficient care by monitoring and evaluating patient care processes and outcomes to ensure compliance with clinical patient care standards.
* Plans for staffing needs on a long and short-term basis, adjusting based on workload and other staffing variables in order to maintain safe and efficient care. Prepares staff schedules and evaluates staff timecards on a regular basis. Monitors fiscal budget to control operational expenditures while monitoring and adjusting staffing patterns to meet or exceed productivity targets.
* Coaches and promotes accountability to team members concerning their job performance and development. When appropriate, completes team member corrective action and annual performance evaluations, providing feedback to team members on a routine basis. Facilitates and ensures adequate orientation of personnel. Maintains department compliance with annual education expectations.
* Leads and promotes performance improvement and safety activities within the Heart Institute and collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams within the organization.
* Performs scheduled and meaningful monthly team meetings. Completes routine rounding with team members, providers, patients, and families to better understand opportunities within the Noninvasive Cardiovascular Department. Responds to team member, provider, and customer satisfaction needs.
* Communicates with the Director and Medical Director(s) on a regular basis as necessary.
* Interviews potential staff members and recommends hiring of applicants.
* When scheduled on-call, must be able to respond within 30 minutes of notification.
* May require light travel or floating to other CHI Health facilities and/or outreach sites as needed to provide staffing support. This applies to all locations.
* When necessary, performs various diagnostic cardiology and/or peripheral vascular exams
Job Requirements
Education
* Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical job training.
Licenses & Certifications
* Minimum of two registries in Adult Cardiac Sonography (RDCS-AE) and Vascular Technology (RVT) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
* Effective 01/01/2019, all current associates who hold a CCI or ARRT ultrasound registry prior to this date will not be required to obtain an ARDMS registry in their current modality. Any subsequent registries must be obtained through the ARDMS.
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
* BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Must be familiar with standard cardiac and/or peripheral vascular ultrasound views, equipment, and controls.
* Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
* Knowledge of basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
* Ability to effectively communicate with team members, physicians, patients, hospital staff, and departmental supervisor in a courteous and professional manner in both standard and difficult situations.
* Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards
* Ability to develop management skills including leadership, communication, data processing, conflict resolution, fiscal responsibility, and decision making
* The ability to teach, insure and monitor staff understanding and performance

A Brief Overview
Performs multi-modality neurodiagnostic testing on pediatric and adult populations.
Essential Functions
Performs high quality neurodiagnostic tests on pediatric and adult patients according to department policy and in accordance with standards of practice. • Gathers pertinent medical history to aid neurologist in the interpretation of data gathered during the testing. • Prepares patient and caregiver for diagnostic exam by providing education/instruction at a level that is easily understood • Uses appropriate distraction techniques involving caregivers to aid in the successful completion of tests • Performs and records electroencephalography (EEG) and Long-Term Video Electroencephalography (LTVEEG) • Assists neurologists in the completion of and recording of electromyography (EMG) • Assesses and trouble shoots to minimize the risk of poor or incomplete data collection. Coordinates schedules to assure timely completion of tests • Arranges schedules to prioritize patients and testing • Flexes workload to meet patient care needs • Is available and ready to begin testing at scheduled times; Communicates with caregivers any delays in start of testing Assists with the management of health information • Assists neurologists in the timely reporting of test results by proofreading and correcting errors prior to physician review • Takes appropriate actions to communicate with physicians and expedite test result reporting • Utilizes processes that facilitate charge capture and charge reconciliation of the procedure charges and professional fees. • Utilizes processes that accurately record departmental statistical data Other duties include assisting in training and developing train new staff members to the Neurodiagnostic Tech I and Neurodiagnostic Tech II positions and Neurodiagnostic Students. • Supervise contracted Neurodiagnostic students from specified schools in the clinical hospital setting • Orients Neurodiagnostic Techs and Neurodiagnostic Students to the equipment used at Children's • Provides opportunities for directly supervised hands on learning in the clinical setting • Responsible for accurate completion and documentation of all procedures performed with new staff and students
Maintains adequate supply levels by monitoring, ordering and restocking supplies

Research Assistants in our lab work as a team on various phases of research studies that support our lab's goal.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Assists in the preparation of auditory and language stimuli and development of appropriate test procedures.
Assists in research tool preparation, data collection, and procedures in research studies involving human participants.
Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and results.

Reporting to the Manager Scientific Affairs you'll perform laboratory test preparation activities and analyses to provide useful, accurate technical information to necessary personnel.
Responsibilities:
Understand and follow laboratory management system policies and procedures.

Receive and prepare incoming samples for analysis
Receive laboratory supplies and equipment; distribute to laboratory staff members.

Import and export test results and other information between laboratory computers and LIMS.
Maintain accurate records of all test work in laboratory notebooks.

Assist senior laboratory staff with extraction, digestion and other sample preparation for complex analyses.
Calculate and interpret data generated from laboratory instrumentation; identify and isolate non-conforming work and make appropriate corrections.
Identify areas of improvement for test methods and technical procedures; initiate action plans.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in a Science (Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology).
Minimum 1 year of related experience.
Experience with Excel - Intermediate level, PowerPoint, LIMS system, and a variety of analytical test equipment.
Experience performing test methods and technical procedures.
Will need to explain technical terms to non-technical audience
Physical requirements:
Ability to stand for up to 6 hours a day performing tests in a pilot plant or plant (may be wet) environment.
