General Responsibilities * Learn, uphold, and implement CTD policies and procedures, including the CTD Honor Code. * Follow all CTD rules, regulations, and administrative policies concerning staff conduct, program procedures, and laboratory operations as outlined in the staff handbook and by administrative staff. * Meet with Northwestern University and/or outside lab staff prior to the session to become familiar with lab organization, maintenance, and procedures. * Review all CTD science course syllabi for assigned strands before the session begins. Coordinate and confirm laboratory use schedules with instructors. * Review syllabi and lab procedures to identify required supplies and materials. Communicate needs to the Supply Manager for ordering and ensure timely receipt of all supplies. * Prepare, set up, break down, and clean laboratories according to schedules and assignments, ensuring proper safety and organization. * Support instructors and TAs during labs, when possible, with attention to laboratory safety and efficiency. * Maintain ongoing communication with instructors and university lab liaisons regarding lab setup, procedures, and materials. * Keep laboratories and equipment clean and organized, ensuring proper disposal of materials. * Inventory, pack, and store all lab supplies at the conclusion of the summer session. * Provide an overview of Northwestern University laboratory safety protocols and best practices to ensure staff and student compliance. * Serve as a liaison among Northwestern University lab staff, instructors, and CTD staff. * Participate in all relevant laboratory safety training. * Lead laboratory safety training for Center for Talent Development staff as needed. * Perform other program-related duties as assigned by CTD administrative staff. * Assume program-related responsibilities as reasonably requested by CTD directors and administrators.
