Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy and laboratory non-waived testing and maintaining proper documentation and adhering to best clinical practices. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: · Able to perform phlebotomy procedures and handle laboratory specimens appropriately. · Centrifuge and aliquot specimen samples based on testing specifications. · Send specimens to the appropriate testing facility. · Execute laboratory testing with accuracy and ensure proper reporting in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR). · Perform Quality Control (QC) prior to running patient samples and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs). · Completes instrument maintenance as required by the manufacturer and following the laboratory's protocol. · Maintain quality assurance and accurate logs and records as required for CLIA Certification and follow all other regulatory requirements. · Perform proficiency testing (PT) as required for non-waived testing. · Communicate with the laboratory team members and practice staff as needed and when appropriate. Reporting and Supervision: This position reports to the Patient Care Manager Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Collect and process lab samples to be sent out. Process in-house lab samples and enter results into computer database. Utilize laboratory equipment to make microscope slides. Oversee lab records and practice management software to ensure all clients are called with lab results. Update medical records through the Electronic Medical Record (Cornerstone) Review and call back nurse line messages from clients. Maintain cleanliness of workspace and equipment.
