With minimal oversight from the Manager/Supervisor of the Laboratory, the Clinical Molecular Technologist will be responsible for processing both clinical and research samples using cutting-edge technologies for nucleic acid analysis, including but not limited to next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, dd PCR and associated sample preparation technologies. These activities will be performed under CLIA/CAP regulations and will directly impact human health and thus must meet the highest possible standards for quality and integrity. Key Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for the efficient and quality execution of sample accessioning, processing and data generation for the Laboratory. This includes working with the manager to maintain all documentation required for operation under CLIA/CAP certification, including review and writing of SOPs as necessary and use of sample tracking systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Timely completion of training assigned by management or laboratory director to meet the needs of laboratory operations
Ensure sample accessioning is performed in an accurate manner to enable effective testing of samples downstream as ordered.
Work with pathologist to evaluated neoplastic content of sample as needed
Sample processing including nucleic acid purification and preparation for sequencing and PCR is performed per established processes
Accurate and timely maintenance of operational metrics
Maintains and updates associated process documentation, participates in continuous process improvements and ongoing training
Performs quality control of samples processed and data generated prior to sending to next steps.
Maintenance of auxiliary and capital equipment and instrumentation

Makes technological/scientific contributions to development projects

Your role at Baxter
The Quality Lab Associate I encompasses the biological, chemical and physical analyses on pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials to finished goods, and environmental monitoring programs.
*Night shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule (including weekends)*

What you'll be doing
Conduct critical chemical and physical analyses on Raw Materials, Initial, In-process and Final products, and samples collected from environmental monitoring programs at Baxter manufacturing facilities. Work under minimum supervision.
Use sophisticated laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, FTIR, UV, GC etc) and computer systems to collect and record data.
Perform advanced assays requiring precise analytical skills and understanding of biology and chemistry principles.
Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, GLP, QSR and cGMP regulations.
Participate in functions involving teams, which impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality.
Perform laboratory and manufacturing audits as required. Audit and update, as required, plant SOPs.
Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations as required.
Document the completion of testing in Notebooks, Controlled documents, Forms and LIMS and maintain accurate and complete quality records.
Follow, understand and comply with Baxter SOP's and policies on cGMP's and safety. Maintain a clean, safe and organized lab area, and potentially assume responsibility to ensure that others maintain their lab areas.
Investigate deviations and write exception/OOL/OOS/OOT documents.
Support improvement projects and drive efficiency through utilization of LEAN management principles (i/e/ 6S, Kaizens etc).
Proactively and cooperatively communicate with peers and management to ensure awareness of progress and issues; recommend solutions when issues arise.
Maintain and meet the highest standards in quality, customer service and regulatory compliance.
Other projects as assigned.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or science related degree with 6 months or more of experience.
Knowledge of Empower CDS and LIMS is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of GLP, cGMP requirements and familiar with USP/ICH guidelines is preferred but not required.

POSITION SUMMARY

9. Assist with Chef for a Day visiting students, recruitment efforts and high school/career fair presentations.
10. Fill in as a teacher assistant when needed.
11. Assist with instruction of daily cooking and food production lessons.
12. Assist with supervision of student workers as necessary.
13. Perform final inspection of individual student work area and dismiss students at the end of each class once all food production and classroom food spaces have been cleaned and sanitized.
14. Ensure operation is in good condition for health department inspections of student food production areas.
15. Work with the instructor to inventory all products and prepare orders for all food and non-food supplies needed for each class.
16. Develop and maintain production sheets for each instructor/class.
