This is a part-time, non-benefited student position. Students who are currently enrolled at UND are eligible for employment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist students in ATC labs at the discretion of the course instructor
Instruct students in proper air traffic control procedures
Proctoring in class quizzes and exams
Minimum Requirements
Must have completed the AVIT 103, Introduction to Air Traffic Control, course.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
Must understand how and be able to obtain lab samples from various locations in the factory.
Good communication abilities, reading, writing, and speaking, to accurately prepare and report quality control information is required.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds (greater than 50 pounds requires assistance). Stands for extensive periods, bends, twists and walks through the factory. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.

The MLT is capable of performing and interpreting waived, moderate, and high complexity testing, and possesses skills to perform routine phlebotomy for patients of all age groups. The MLT interprets quality control values; troubleshoots and resolves QC failures according to predetermined criteria; participates in additional quality assurance activities; operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation. The MLT recognizes procedural and technical problems, troubleshoots and takes corrective action according to predetermined criteria, and notifies Supervisor/Manager/Laboratory Medical Director as appropriate.
Essential Job Functions:
According to standard operating procedure: demonstrates knowledge of criteria to interpret acceptability of specimens received for testing; communicates correct specimen collection, transport requirements, and specimen unacceptability issues to caregiver assuring that documentation id is completed; maintains clear and concise specimen identification throughout the entire analytical process.
Utilizes all available technologies to record and retrieve data in the daily work flow following standard operating procedure.
Performs, interprets, and reports tests for which the individual has been validated according to standard operating procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to interpret the various clinical presentations of disease and technical elements of testing. Applies such knowledge in conjunction with the laboratory test findings to affect a timely and accurate diagnostic result.
Collects blood specimens from patients of all ages and is responsible for blood specimen integrity through accuracy of patient identification, specimen labeling, collection steps, and specimen transport.
Organizes and prioritizes workload to maximize individual and departmental productivity. Ensures workload completion according to established guidelines. Performs simultaneous tasks, assists other staff with work related activities, and communicates with appropriate individuals as necessary.
Interprets QC values. Investigates and troubleshoots QC failures according to predetermined criteria. Notifies the next level of authority as necessary and documents all action taken. Participates in additional Quality Assurance activities as assigned.
Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory instrumentation sufficient to operate, maintain, and perform limited repairs. Recognizes the need for major repair or replacement. Documents maintenance and repair activities.
Recognizes procedural or technical problems, troubleshoots, and takes corrective action according to predetermined criteria. Documents problems and all correction active taken. Notifies Supervisor/Manager/Pathologist as appropriate.
Remains accessible to Lab staff by providing on-site consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Cath Lab Rads assist doctors during advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures such as cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular procedures, and structural heart procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Scrubbing, monitoring and assisting providers as requested.
As a Cath Lab Rad, you will be responsible for:
Preparing the Cardiac Lab procedure rooms by ensuring adequate stock is available and in working condition, including instrument sterilization if applicable.
Preparing patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures by preparing site of entry, draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting up pressure transducers and tubing.
Operating and ensuring the quality control of all equipment utilized in the cardiac cath lab. Knowledge of all related equipment within the laboratory.
Scrubbing in during procedures, assisting the physician in maneuvering catheters.
Obtaining and recording hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating-hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment.
Monitoring the patient‘s hemodynamic status during procedures in the cardiac cath lab.
Participating in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Cath Lab Rads should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
Must have 1 year of experience. The Cath Lab Rad must have BLS, ACLS, ARRT (R) -CI preferred or CCI-RCIS certification, and state specific licensing when required.

This position supports all Riverview Health patient care areas. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Perform supportive laboratory functions.
Serve patients by registering patients for laboratory testing, preparing specimens for laboratory testing and perform screening procedures.
Responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, labelling them correctly and sending them off for analysis and testing. Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient.
Makes judgments regarding possible clerical discrepancies and brings them to the attention of a laboratory tech or the Director.
Patients serviced include those in the following age groups: infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
Provides patient care which is appropriate to patient's age, diagnosis, symptoms, provider orders, and following established policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current American Heart CPR - Healthcare Provider certification. If not currently certified training will be provided.
Preferred:
Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field.
Three years of experience as a phlebotomist.
One year of supervisory experience.
One year of lab specimen processing experience.
