* Perform routine activities involved in the preparation of histopathology slides under general supervision and according to policies and procedures.
* Receive/collect, label and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.

SUMMARY
The lab technician will be responsible for the daily operational requirements of a mechanical testing laboratory within the PPE industry. In this role, you will be primarily conducting in house mechanical testing against 4 major procedures, Cut, Abrasion, Puncture and Impact on both raw materials and finished goods. These tests help validate the protective properties of the finished good and in some cases could be used to assign regulatory compliance ratings on finished goods. In addition to regulatory testing, the lab technician also conducts a variety of testing services for our quality assurance, research and development, sales and product management teams. Finally, the lab supports our external customer base by testing competitive products helping to provide the data they need to make an informed decision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Open and close the lab ensuring all opening and closing chores are done daily.
Create, manage and execute technical reports with the guidance of the Senior Technology Manager.
Manage inventory demands appropriately, submitting all inventory needs to the STM for ordering.
Keep current on regulatory compliance developments and changes within the PPE vertical. ISEA, ASSP, ANSI, NFPA.
Submit RFQ's to 3rd party laboratories when inhouse services are restricted or not offered.
Support a robust product development and management team.
Manage 3rd party vendor scheduling, ensuring equipment is calibrated and well maintained.
Support R&D in vetting new materials against specific performance requirements.
Support Quality Assurance team as requested.
Support Product Management team by owning all aspects of 3rd party testing requirements of the 2016/425 regulation in EMEA markets.
QUALIFICATIONS
1 year lab experience would be nice but not mandatory.
Must have strong organization skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
Attention to details and ability to multi-tasks is a must have.
