    The primary function of a Tremco Project & Compatibility Lab Technician is to manage internal testing procedures that are used to establish a compatibility matrix for all Tremco products that are subject to contact in typical construction applications. The P&C Lab Technician will perform Project Testing and support testing functions for Decks, Below Grade Waterproofing, Sealants and Air Barriers. These test functions include Product Comparison, Product Compatibly, ASTM Testing (potential addendums to existing standard method requirements). The P&C Lab Technician will be required to communicate results in an organized manner and manage the flow of data through the proper channels to the proper recipients in a timely fashion ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Laboratory: 75% of time will be spent in the laboratory in constructing test samples, documenting performance and maintaining a clean working environment. Must be familiar with a laboratory setting and safety and be able to: Test to ASTM C 1248, ASTM C 1247, ASTM C 1193, ASTM C 1135, ASTM C 1087, ASTM 794, ASTM C 793, ASTM C 719, ASTM C 679, ASTM C 679, ASTM C 661, ASTM C 639 and ASTM C 510 standard test methods. Prepare test substrates for testing using cutting equipment including band saw, table saw and wet saw. Document observations and results of standard testing in detailed test reports. Maintain organization of test articles during sample preparation, conditioning, testing and storage. Maintain cleanliness of laboratory environment and enforce laboratory hygiene plan. Use of material testing equipment including microscope and Instron 5565. Other duties as assigned. Customer Support (External and Internal): Provide timely response on requests from internal and external customers as it relates to compatibility testing and posting of results in the database. Develop a test schedule to provide accurate turnaround time estimates. Maintain quick and accurate written and verbal responses to technical and non-technical questions. Work with minimal dependence. Display excellent problem solving & communication skills. Provide general Technical Service phone support. Travel on a limited basis to job sites and for product application support training. About the role: We are seeking a full time Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for various laboratory testing including Titrations, ICP analysis, and viscosity testing. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and/or instrumentation as required by the method. Perform calculations as required when conducting analytical preparations. Perform sample preparation for multiple testing requirements. Perform housekeeping duties as required. This includes assisting with storage and disposal of client samples. Monitor inventory levels for supplies and reagents required for test methods. Prepare and maintain standards and reagents. Some standards will require a minimum Level 2 depending on the complexity and quality risk. Generate, accumulate, handle, work near, transport, and dispose of hazardous wastes. Collect, store, and label any hazardous waste generated in compliance with the ALS policy. Contribute to sample receival process including opening packages, sorting mail and data entry. Participate in shift hand overs to ensure smooth transition. Identify continuous improvement activities for the site. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: High school diploma/GED is required.. Laboratory experience is preferred. Physical Demands: The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.
