Summary:

Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Summary: Through the utilization of applied theories, principles, and practices of clinical laboratory technology, performs and reports tests in a manner to promote the efficient operation of the laboratory and provide effective patient care.
Job Purpose: Performs and reports laboratory testing in a manner to promote the efficient operation of the laboratory and effective patient care. Duties and responsibilities include: *performs and evaluates Quality Control *performs testing in Chemistry and Diagnostic Immunology *participates in proficiency testing *troubleshooting and resolves basic instrument problems *receives and processes a variety of laboratory specimens and utilizes the Meditech computer system for data entry; computerized worksheets and instrument interfaces are used in the performance of testing *performs both STAT and routine testing in an accurate and timely manner *assists the manager in the development of new methods and evaluating cost feasibility as required *trains new employee in department procedures and policies *participates in department meetings *works with fellow staff members to analyze workflow processes and conduct QI audits *on-call coverage responsibilities
Qualifications: Minimum education: BS MT required Registration/certification as MT or MLS (ASCP) or equivalent NCA, AMT or HEW highly preferable at time of hire. Will consider a candidate who will take and pass certification exam at the next opportunity examination is offered.

Laboratory Support - Assistant
Laboratory assistant job in Marlborough, MA
The Specimen Tech I (SPTI) or Lab Associate is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. Functions performed may include but are not limited to A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation and aliquoting. All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy and in a timely manner. Job is complex and requires that employee have good organization skills and is able to learn and understand specimen types related to test(s) ordered by client. The SPT I must have to the ability learn and understand the compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change on a daily basis. The SPT I will be exposed to many different demands made by the customer. Majority of SPT I work, on the nightshift, but based on staffing needs weekends, holidays, on call and overtime is a requirement. Department is a production environment, with emphasis on productivity/quality standards and departmental completion times.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for all responsibilities of the Specimen Preparation Assistant.
2. Demonstrates an ability to learn the job duties assigned to the SPT I, and develops an understanding of how all the functions in Specimen Processing fit together.
3. Identifies problems with specimen types, missing information etc. and assigns the appropriate TIQ, and in some cases resolves them.
4. Demonstrates an understanding of the compliance policies related to test ordering, which requires developing ability to research test ordering information on translation tables, computer system, and the directory of services.
5. Meets standards for production and accuracy within 6 months.
6. Understands the complex relationship between test(s) ordered and specimen received.
7. Completes all required written documentation, legibly and within the assigned timeframe
8. Reports to work on time, and follows attendance guidelines.
9. Learns additional functions within Specimen Processing to allow timely progression to the next level.
10. Performs other duties as assigned

Laboratory assistant job in Concord, NH
Under the supervision of the Histology Supervisor, performs a variety of duties involved in the registration, accessioning, identification and processing of Pathology specimens according to established methods and procedures to include staining, storage of specimens, operation of equipment used in the preparation of liquid based GYN/Non-GYN specimens, and operation of equipment used in the H-E/IHC staining of surgical specimens. Under the general supervision of the pathology supervisor and medical direction of the Pathologist, performs duties to assist in the gross dissection of specimens, frozen section slide staining, and autopsies.
Education
Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Associates Degree).
Certification, Registration & Licensure
None required.
Experience
One year experience in related job required. Experience in a clinical pathology laboratory preferred.
Responsibilities
Process surgical, cytology, and histology specimens.
Receive Pathology specimens into department.
Utilize instruments in processing specimens.
Perform dissecting duties, such as opening skull, removing brain, and assists in taking cultures and blood.
Perform quality control, checks, calibrates and maintain equipment in working order.
Prepare autopsy room, instruments, supplies, blocks, and specimen containers.
Collect waste Formula 83 and Ethanol for recycling.
Prepare and package specimens for send out to outside lab.
Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
