The ideal candidate for this position holds a current California State Laboratory Scientist License and has experience as a CLS. Working closely with the Technical and General Supervisor, he or she will perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures. This is a third-shift (night) position. Hours are 10pm - 6:30am. Responsibilities Under the direction of Technical and General Supervisors, perform laboratory procedures across a broad range of assays and in accordance with standards established in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Process specimens, conduct testing, and report test results with constant attention to detail and excellence in quality. Operate laboratory instruments and equipment. Trouble shoot and problem solve with laboratory instrumentation and assay systems as needed. Monitor and perform preventative maintenance as required for machine performance. Keep meticulous and organized records of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify supervisors. Conduct and document appropriate quality control and assurance procedures. Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Qualifications Requirements Current California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist License. Bachelor's degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or related field. Ability to responsibly follow laboratory protocols and processes autonomously, consulting with supervisor when needed. Knowledge of basic clinical laboratory skills. Ability to operate clinical analyzers and instrumentation. Proven track record of producing accurate results and maintaining excellence in quality in a dynamic work environment. What you'll do: Reporting to the Plant Supervisors, Divert s Assistant Technicians play a pivotal role in the food analysis and recovery process as they execute on various prep, cleaning, light maintenance and other activities. Divert s Turlock, CA facility receives unsold food from clients, analyzes the content, separates the packaging from the organics that can then be digested, ultimately processing the mixed liquor through our anaerobic digestion tank. The end result is renewable natural gas (RNG) tied into a local NG pipeline Shift Available: Nights, 2/2/3, 6 pm to 6:30 am This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence.
