Maintain basic Excel spreadsheets for inventory, calibration, and shipment tracking. Support general lab organization, equipment maintenance, and process documentation. Required Qualifications 1-3 years of hands-on lab or soldering/ assembly experience. Soldering skills, especially with small components (e.g., 0204s). Some understanding of QFN rework experience or demonstrated ability to handle fine-pitch soldering.     Job Description This position is Full Time: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm with a weekend rotation. Weekend rotation is once every 6 weeks. The Lab Assistant is responsible for a variety of duties throughout the lab. Receiving and accessioning surgical specimens for testing, assists physicians and clients. Also cleans and maintains assigned areas and performs other duties as needed. The Lab Assistant may be involved in minimal handling of Hazardous waste. Employees are responsible for following all Company policies and procedures. These policies and procedures will include adherence to regulatory standards such as CAP, CLIA, and OSHA, including safety standards in performing all aspects of the functions below. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: I: 1. Receive and accession surgical and cytology specimens. 2. File blocks and slides as needed. 3. Perform daily QC documentation 4. Maintain equipment and supplies in clean condition, including transferring used reagents from stainers and tissue processors to 90-day accumulation containers (55-gal . drums). 5. Preps samples for send out to reference labs 6. May perform other duties as assigned. II: All duties listed above III: 1. All duties listed above Lead: All duties listed above In the absence of the Histology Lab Manager responsible for department oversight and supervision Assist in new employee orientation and training Assist with updating and maintaining Accessioning Procedures Troubleshooting/problem solving Maintain communication with the Histology Lab Manager PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT: In exercising these functions, the employee must be able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally, and/or up-to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs routinely to move objects. Employees may be exposed to blood products, knife cuts, hazardous waste, and chemical fumes, so appropriate precautionary measures must be followed at all times. Certain situations require eye protection, a mask, a lab coat, and gloves. Hazardous Waste training is required.
