Duties and Responsibilities • Perform basic analytical tests based on standards and procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Manager. • Assist and perform the setting up, adjusting and operating laboratory equipment. • Calibrate laboratory instruments as needed to ensure that analysis is accurate according to the Quality Management systems. • Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment. • Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas. • Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used. • Understand and complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into LIMS data base. • Ability to read and comprehend all analysis as well as safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory. • Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Laboratory Manual & Safety Manual and company policies. • All other duties assigned by management. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related science preferred, or equivalent work experience; coupled with a minimum of one (2) year of direct transferable experience working in a laboratory. • Knowledgeable in ASTM standards. • Must be able to work with all chemical, petrochemical and petroleum products. • Must be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight. • Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) experience preferred. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access preferred. • Have a great work history with a track record of being responsible individual. • Detailed orientated. • Excellent communication skills. • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment.
