Join our dynamic laboratory team as a Medical Technologist, where you will play a crucial role in patient care by preparing and testing patient samples. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results using advanced techniques and equipment.
Responsibilities
Prepare patient samples for testing and determine the acceptability of specimens and results.
Repeat specimen testing as necessary to ensure accuracy.
Perform Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis testing.
Conduct laboratory tests and procedures using techniques such as ELISA, RNA extraction, and flow cytometry.
Execute a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated Biochemical, Hematological, Microbiological, and/or Blood Bank analyses on varied patient specimens.
Maintain, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Accurately prepare, label, and store reagents, standards, controls, and specimens for analysis.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Recognize normal, abnormal, unusual, and critical results and take appropriate action as established by laboratory policy.
Verify accuracy of results and initiate corrective action when indicated.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science.
Certification in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science from recognized certifying bodies.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Blood bank experience is required.
Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory.
Ability to interpret test results and apply them to patient care.
Proficiency in one of the following areas: hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, or microscopy.
Certified Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Certification must be from ASCP, NCA, AMT, or AAB.

Caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing, scoring analysis and associated interventions.
* Provide supervision of Polysomnographic Technicians and Polysomnographic Trainees.
* Review history/physical information, medications, test requests and study protocol.
* Complete and verify all documentation (pre- and post-sleep questionnaires, technician notes, etc.).
* Explain the procedure and orient the patient to the sleep center.
* Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
* Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
* Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary.
* Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
* Follow procedural protocols (e.g., MSLT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, etc.) to ensure collection of appropriate data.
* Follow "Lights Out" procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rate, etc.)
* Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and makes adjustments, if necessary.
* Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
* Implement appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.).
* Follow "Lights On" procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (e.g. repeats the physiological and instrument calibrations and instructs the patient on completing the questionnaires, etc.)
* Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
* Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
* Assist with scoring clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals, etc.) with center specific protocols.
* Assist with generation of accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
* Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* High School diploma or GED.
* Registry (RPSGT, RST, REEGT, or RRT) required within 18 months of hire
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
* Minimum one year polysomnographic testing and scoring experience.
* One year of EEG, Respiratory Therapy or healthcare related experience may substitute.

Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attends annual department trainings
Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Reliable transportation with at least 4 years of licensed driving experience and possess a valid driver's license issued in the state of residence.

Caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing, scoring analysis and associated interventions.
* Provide supervision of Polysomnographic Technicians and Polysomnographic Trainees.
* Review history/physical information, medications, test requests and study protocol.
* Complete and verify all documentation (pre- and post-sleep questionnaires, technician notes, etc.).
* Explain the procedure and orient the patient to the sleep center.
* Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
* Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
* Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary.
* Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
* Follow procedural protocols (e.g., MSLT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, etc.) to ensure collection of appropriate data.
* Follow "Lights Out" procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rate, etc.)
* Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and make adjustments, if necessary.
* Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
* Implement appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.).
* Follow "Lights On" procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (e.g. repeats the physiological and instrument calibrations and instructs the patient on completing the questionnaires, etc.)
* Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
* Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
* Assist with scoring clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals, etc.) with center specific protocols.
* Assist with generation of accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
* Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* High School diploma or GED
* Registered Polysomnography Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (RST)

Performs phlebotomy in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols. Receives specimens in to the Laboratory Information System LIS accurately and timely, labels, transports, centrifuges, and aliquots specimens. Assists customer requests for laboratory information including sendout tests to national reference labs. Prepares and packages specimens for transport to reference labs. Researches new sendout requests by Physicians using available resources. Enters lab charges and CPT codes on all Lab Miscellaneous tests. Distributes specimens to testing section in accordance with collection priority, i.e. STAT over Routine. Faxes and distributes results as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of policies and procedures used within the department as well as throughout the hospital to address patient questions and concerns. Estimated pay range for this position is $18.87 - $24.53 / hour depending on experience. Degrees:
* High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.
Licenses & Certifications:
* AAMA Certified Medical Assistant.
* Phlebotomist Certification.
Additional Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Phlebotomy and computer skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, excellent customer service skills required, and ability to work in a high volume fast paced work environment.
PREFERRED: Phlebotomy or medical assistant certificate.
Experience in Hospital phlebotomy experience with pediatric, geriatric, oncology and neonate patients.
Bilingual preferred.
Minimum Required Experience: 2 Years
