About this Position
Provides technical support for the delivery and maintenance of cadaver anatomy labs for the science department under the direction of the Anatomy Lab Technician, Department Head, and Lead Instructor of Anatomy. Additional duties may include support of science activities and day-to-day functions.

Essential Job Functions:
Dissection and maintenance of human cadavers and the lab environment.
Record work performed in anatomy labs including, but not limited to, activities performed on cadavers.
Maintain a safe working environment in cadaver labs with appropriate collection and disposal of biological specimens. Any hazards are to be reported to the anatomy lab technician.
Monitor anatomy students in open lab sessions.
Maintain lab coats and other lab supplies for anatomy labs.
Completes all mandatory training.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Laboratory environment. Exposure to chemicals and repetitive activities common to science labs, such as cutting and pipetting.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment. Shifts are 3-4 hours per day and a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.

Assist in preparation for, and during, accreditation site visits.
Coordinate with HP Simulations & Lab Director to schedule and assign student workers, track hours worked, and ensure compliance with weekly hour limits.

Oversee and assist as needed/directed in the HP Computer Labs to include troubleshooting and general computer maintenance.

Position:
To provide assistance to the Reference Technologists. To serve as a liaison to OBI transfusion service customers, hospital customers, and all OBI departments and locations.
Qualifications:
* Position requires a High School diploma with 20 or more collegiate hours highly desired
* At least 2-3 years of blood center experience preferred
* Basic technical knowledge of ABO blood groups
* Strong communication and excellent customer service skills
* Strong problem solving ability
* Must be able to prioritize
* Ability to work well in a team oriented environment
* Must work well under pressure with time constraints
* Multitasking required
* Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel desirable
Primary Responsibilities:
* Answer incoming calls/Blood Hub requests and take orders from clients
* Accession samples
* Select antigen negative units to fill hospital orders
* Pack blood and blood products for transport
* Manage distribution of physician reviewed reports and proficiency testing folders
* Coordinate exchange and delivery of supplies and rare blood inventory between OKC and all other OBI Reference Labs
* Label Reference Lab blood products
* Assist with first and second labeling checks of rare units
* Copy and mail consultation reports and pick up mail daily
* Receive reagents into the laboratory
* Manage patient and donor records for storage
* Initiate and complete audits for transfusion service clients
* Prepare documentation for Transfusion Committee Meetings
* Perform historical record search and retrieval from off site storage

Work Schedule: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

This position is responsible for determining particulate matter content in pharmaceutical samples utilizing instrumentation and/or microscopic techniques.
