Food Molecular Laboratory Technologist Daily Tasks: What you will do:
Process and prepare food samples and perform molecular testing including dd PCR/RT-PCR and whole genome sequencing (WGS).
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while following SOPs, QA/QC standards, and safety protocols.
Record, analyze, and communicate test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Support lab operations such as specimen receiving, experiment setup, autoclaving, cleaning, and inventory management.
Collaborate with internal partners and public health teams, making time-sensitive decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Food Molecular Laboratory Technologist Qualifications/Requirements:

Role Summary

Bachelors in Science in Biological or Chemistry required and with specialization in reproductive Biology preferred.
Good command of written and spoken English.

JOB DESCRIPTION/PROJECT:
The position will involve working with the Lead Scientist and Research Associates in the Cytometry Core within the Center of Technology.
Skills the Intern, Cytometry Core will gain:
* Knowledge of how flow cytometry, high content imaging and cell sorting are used in a biotechnology environment to support research, bioanalysis, and clinical work
* Knowledge in how to operate a flow cytometer, high content imager and cell sorter
* Training in a typical flow cytometry assay including complex options for data analysis
